Favorite Candy or Treat for Various Holidays Fri, 09/2/05 12:40 PM (permalink)
Hello All,
Various holidays are coming soon and I have so many candies or treats that are associated with them all, including seasons. At halloween I love popcorn balls because a neighbor made them to give to trick-or-treaters. Autumn recalls nutty-buddies and some chocolate covered coconut candy that we sold to make money for our school. Thanksgiving is those little sweet pumpkin candies and chocolate-covered cherries makes Christmas whole when it comes to holiday treats. Easter is not Easter without some chocolate-covered marshmellowed bunnies. Summertime is a rich variety of candies, like the variety in my garden, from Babe Ruth's to fireballs, to popsicles. What is your favorites throughout the year or various holidays. Enrich us with your rich memories and current candy passions.
Take Care,
Fieldthistle

As gross as they are, I always get Brachs candy corn and put them in a dish for Halloween.
Other Halloween candy I offer includes :Dum Dums; bite size Clark bars; Mary Jane's; Peanut Butter Kisses' and Pumpkin shaped Reeses peanut butter cups.

I like to get a charleston chew in early summer and watch a night-time softball game at the local park.

Easter = Jelly-Belly jellybeans in a variety of packaging schemes.

At Christmastime the only store bought candies I purchase is candy canes (which I decorate the christmas tree with, and then let visitors and kids take them off) and dark chocolate santas (the good chocolate, not the cheap stuff)

When I go to Syracuse, NY for holiday's, I like to get Fanny Farmer's Chocolate and White Chocolate covered pretzels, and a box of Turtles for my Mom.

Cella's chocolate covered cherries with the liquid center. We can get them year-round at certain stores, but they are very plentiful at Chrismas, and have always associated them with the holidays.
