Sounds strange but tastes like Indonesian sate on a bagel. Take garlic bagel and toast. Put on layer of chunky peanut butter, top with layer of Sriracha hot sauce (sort of sweet hot), crunchy bacon, then top each half with lettuce!

I like peanut butter and sizzlean (which is now called sizzl-ing). But I am going to have to try a grilled fluffernutter. Sounds great.

I prefer it the same way, like a bad taco, but the PB and other ingredients dont ooze out of all the opening like this.

Dearfolk,
I'll take my peanut butter crunchy and "natural" (no added sugars or stretchers) on whatever bread is available. It doesn't need anything else.
Next time I feel sufficiently idiotic, I'll have to try peanut butter with livermush. "Now them two would right go together," as my father's late Cousin Jack would opine.

This will probably get me excommunicated from the sandwich forum, but...

although I love peanut butter as an ingredient - in cookies, or in a delicious, addictive peanut sauce with vegetable tempura -

I just do not like peanut butter in sandwiches. Let alone
straight from the jar. It tastes good. But it is just. too. sticky.

The only PB&J sandwich I like is Skippy Crunchy PB, Strawberry Jelly (not jam, preserves, or spread) on fresh pluffy white bread, washed down with cold milk. Often I like to crush Fritos or BBQ potato chips inside. I've been doing this since the third grade and I'm 40 years old now.

I like to toast a Thomas' English muffin(no substitutions)and put just PB(lots) on it. usually the melted PB winds up on my shirt to the delight of my wife but it's worth it,most of the time.

Smuckers creamy with Rasberry preserves on Rye with potato chips jammed in the middle.

You mustbuild the sandwich first, and then add the chips (pref Wise or State Line)

This is also good on whole wheat, multigrain, or sourdough.

To accompany: A HUGEglass of Coca Cola (never Pepsi) with a ton of ice, sunshine, and a picnic table.

Chirping birds and a warm breeze are optional.

OMG, you just triggered the biggest flashback. When I was a kid, my parents used to make us grilled cream cheese (Philly brand) and grape jelly on white bread. My mouth is watering right now, but I guess that would be for another thread. Thanks for the memories.

This one is going to make a few people look a little , I'm sure but eh, you did ask for our favourites ....

Really fresh handsliced wholemeal bread, or a big bap. Very thin layer of butter or spread on one side. Very thick layer of crunchy PB on the other. Fairly lavish amount of Branston Pickle over the PB, making sure the PB is studded with nice lumps of the various veg bits. Liberal amounts of fresh thick cucumber slices over that. Sea salt, freshly ground pepper, close up, bite in, enjoy. Or not, as the case may be

Second favourite is crunchy PB on white, sweet dill pickle spears chopped into rough chunks and any kind of red jam, strawberry being best. Yum !

Depending on my mood, either
creamy peanut butter mixed with honey on white bread
or
creamy peanut butter and sliced sweet pickles on white bread.

Large soft floury roll. Of a decent size to contain a substantial amount of filling. Can be wholemeal but usually white bread. Bit more of a northern/Scottish thing here but you can get them everywhere.

PB, Nutella, Marshmallow Fluff, grilled.

We have PB Loco flavored peanut butters in our area; don't know if they're national. But their curry flavored peanut butter on warm naan is a close favorite.

Also a plain peanut butter sandwich eaten with a bowl of chicken ramen noodles.

I still like creamy peanut butter, mayo and sliced Vidilia onion on fresh white bread with a glass of ice cold milk. Occasionally I'll forego the onions and substitute bacon. For breakfast it's creamy peanut butter and Bama (or Welch's or Smuckers) grape jelly on fresh wihte bread.

I really love peanut butter and eat it almost every day on toast with breakfast. For a winter treat that brings me back to my childhood, I make whole wheat toast, spread it with PB, cut the toast diagonally, and dunk into hot Ovaltine. (Tastes like a Reese's PB cup!)

When I lived in Atlanta in the late '70's, there was a vegetarian restaurant named "Nature's Last Stand" where I used to sometimes order their peanut butter sandwich. It started with thick-sliced whole-grain bread, butter spread thinly on one side, and natural, smooth PB on the other. And inside was a nice slab of Havarti cheese and bean sprouts. The various textures of the creamy, almost sweet cheese, the roughness of the natural PB, and the crisp, moist crunch of the sprouts was heavenly together.

I grew up eating sandwiches of PB and raisins, PB and bananas, PB and bacon, and occassionally for a treat, Mom would make us Fluffernutters. Now, my favorite combination is whole-grain bread with Jif-- if I'm feeling the need for comfort-food-- or a natural PB if I'm feeling more "adult"-- and grape jam.

For a heartier PB sandwich, my favorite is whole-grain bread with crisp bacon, mayo, PB, and leaf lettuce.

Oh, good, someone else who likes Peanut Butter and Bacon (or Sizzlean, if necessary)! Ideally the bacon is still hot enough to melt the peanut butter.
About 30 years ago, some peanut butter maker tried marketing jars of peanut butter with bacon bits (or more like, Bac-Os) already mixed in, but I doubt it survived the test market phase, as I only saw it once.

Other fave PB sandwich-- PB and sliced fruit (instead of jelly/jam).

And I like to fold the bread in two also.

I went through a phase in Jr and Sr High school where I had PB, white bread and GREEN OLIVES! , Have not had one of these in many years,
Currently I like creamy PB and Banana, PB and honey, and PB with either strawberry or raspberry preserves-

Have you guys heard about the "Fluffernutter" controversy here in Mass? They are trying to legislate Fluffernutters off school lunch menus, my goodness some people have too much time on there hands
