Favorite Summer Beverages

In the summer I think my frig has more drinks in it than it does food.I love sweet tea with lemon, home made lemonaid, and just about any kind of fruit juice as long as it's really cold. I know, I can have those in there all year long, but it just doesn't seem the same. Anyone have any favorites they look forward to in the summer? Pam

Make a quart of your favorite lemonade, sweeten it, and put it in a blender with one peeled, seeded cucumber. Then strain, refrigerate. Delicious.

Homemade lemonade with about 8-12 strawberries smashed into it. Stir, then chill. Oh so good.

I live in Florida. It's alway's summer here! lol Sweet Tea is the beverage of choice. I didn't like sweet tea at all until I moved to the south. Sometimes I'll have 1/2 sweet tea and 1/2 lemonade.

I believe the drink is called an Arnold Palmer. I don't know how the connection between the beverage and the Pro-Golfer developed, but I love it. Half Sweet Tea and Half Lemonade. If someone knows the story of the naming of this drink, please post it.

I've always heard of the sweet tea/lemonade combo as being called "swamp water".

Yes,summertime is gin and tonic time.I like Tanqueray a lot but Gordons and Gilbeys get the job done. The big favorite around here right now is the new "New Amsterdam Gin".The ads say its good enough to drink straight out of the freezer but duh...I never had gin that wasnt good out of the freezer.Well, maybe Old Mr Boston.

We most often drink iced tea or lemonade, which really isn't lemonade because I use lemons, oranges, and limes in it. We also like this watermelon drink: WATERMELON-LIME COOLER Take one fourth of a good-size watermelon, and remove all seeds. Pound flesh or press through a food mill to remove juice. There should be about 3 cups. Add the juice of 1 lime, and sugar to taste. Put a cube of watermelon and a slice of lime in each of 4 tall glasses. Add ice cubes, and pour watermelon-juice mixture over ice. When local peaches are in season, I always make this drink for Ladies' Night at our neighbor's pool: BELLINI FREEZE 4 fresh ripe peaches, peeled 1/2 cup sugar 2 Tbs. almond liqueur 1 (750 ml) bottle of sparking white wine, chilled Remove peach pits and quarter peaches. In blender or food processor, puree peaches and sugar until almost smooth. Add almond liqueur; process 2 to 3 seconds to blend. Pour into a 9” X 5” loaf pan. Cover with foil or plastic wrap. Place in freezer, freeze until almost firm, 1 to 3 hours. Cut 3 lengthwise rows and 8 crosswise rows through partially frozen mixture. Replace cover and return to freezer; freeze until firm, 1 to 3 hours. Place in refrigerator to soften slightly 10 to 15 minutes before serving. To serve, place 3 pieces of frozen mixture in each of 8 sherbet glasses or champagne glasses. Pour wine over frozen mixture. Serve with a spoon. Makes 8 servings.

white sangria- summer stone fruit- peaches, plums or nectarines, maybe some berries,a little something sweet- honey or sugar and add some really nice, inexpensive white wine- smuttle the fruit, mix the concoction all together- very refreshing and goes with BBQ, grilled foods, even shrimp boil!
