My favorite is anything involving mint. I love mint. Neapolitan is a close runner-up, although I guess technically that's not really a "flavor," per se...
I'm not with you on the mint, but anything else. We have a place here attached to the University of Wisconsin (Babcock Creamery)...they have an orange cream/chocolate chip that I really like. I also like most of the fruit frozen custards...peach, pineapple, raspberry, strawberry, etc. I will also never turn down a chocolate custard cone, either. I always get a hot fudge sundae at Michael's (local custard shop) if the flavor of the day is some berry.

I am going to re-enter this thread after my initial post of a few years back.
I find my tastes wandering around the sprectrum as the seasons change these days. I still put Graeter's at the top of my brand list...but several supermarket premium brand flavors come close to that quality now at a much lower price.
I have grown quite attached to DQ Hot Fudge flavor Milk Shakes,
Natural Peach, and Strawberry tend to be excellent Summer coolers. The Blueberry Pie flavor  continues to be excellent as well.  I have yet to find an equal to Baskin Robins Pralines N Cream...Lots of imitations but no equals.
I prefer the tartness of Lemon or Berry Gelato or Italian Ice to Ice Cream of the same flavors.   During the winter, the Fudge- Butterscotch-Carmel-Toffee toppings on Mocha ice cream are fine for me.

My local favorite is Stewart's Butter Pecan.

Unlike most of the supermarket brands, Stewart's ice cream is still packaged in full half-gallons.

My all time favorite is/was (as I'm not sure they still produce it) is Black Sweet Cherry from the Cornell Dairy.

GO BIG RED!

mayor al could possibly ban me for saying this, but here goes, I'm getting a little Graeter-ed out.  Sorry!  It's still my favorite too but there's a Graeter's 1 mile from us......so I think I've tried just about all the flavors.  I saw an ad for Breyers Gelato and may pick up one today at the store.......tiramisu flavor.  Anyone tried it?

The very first flavor of ice cream that I remember tasting is black raspberry - even before vanilla or chocolate. It remains my favorite of all time, but some of the from-the-food-store versions are sad. I also love anything with caramel in it.

In summertime, it's all about custard from a custard stand, and water ice (I like cherry and lemon; my other half goes for more exotic flavors like mango). We do not like Rita's! As far as custard, I'll take vanilla and orange swirl over anything.

I love the combination of Coconut Pineapple & Banana Walnut (1scoop of each) in a waffle cone from Gunthers   But every flavor they make is top notch delicious.                                              http://www.gunthersicecream.com/menu.htm

lleechef, we've tried the Breyer's gelato, was a tad disappointed.  We very much liked the tiramisu flavors that can be purchased @ Target and the gelato that occasionally shows up at Aldi's(Belmont).

Favorite old time flavor is Butter Brickle,  for the newer flavors is anything with chocolate/coffee and what ever other tidbits get thrown in.

Lisa,
I do understand. When I "O-D" on heavy cream ice cream, I find myself using the DQ drive-thru for awhile.. and sticking to the minimums.. plain cones or small sundaes.

The weather was beautiful today and we were in the mood for ice cream, and perhaps a new favorite flavor so we headed to Utica, Ohio, to:

It is an old grist mill.

The outdoor patio.

And the favorite flavors.......mine on the left, Turtle Tracks (vanilla ice cream, swirls of caramel, nuts and chunks of chocolate.  For MH it was Wild Black Cherry.

You picked a much better weekend to go to Utica than we did.  We tried to go last weekend for the festival and after sitting in dead stop traffic for over 30 minutes, we finally gave up and turned around.

As for my current favorite ice cream, it woudl have to be the milkiest chocolate in the world from Jeni's.

And for store bought gleato, I have found the Talenti to be the best.
