Fine Wines and Hot Dogs from Crif's in NYC

Two writers from the Washington Post went to a wine tasting where the wines were paired with various hot dogs fromCrif's. Here is the article, and here are some associated dog-wine matching tips.

Couple of weeks ago we had a hotdog and wine party up here in Healdsburg - huge success, and not a soul used ketchup. I agree with the pairings in that article wholeheartedly.

Ha...those guys don't know anything. The best possible pairing is a couple of microwaved Ball Parks and a bottle of Night Train!

What should one pair with an Oscar Mayer wiener? Boone's Farm? Cisco?
    Or perhaps a nice 2008 MD 20/20.

NebGuy... If you can find a nice vintage 3 week old MD 20/20, your doing good!
Why not write an article of which beer goes better with which dog.. I'd find that far more interesting to read.

I see no problem with this. The trick is to match the right wine with any food.

For chili dogs, wings and other spicy foods most people reach for a sweeter white wine. I always reach for an over the top California Zinfandel. Try it, you'll like it.

But if they did, being in Sonoma, it would have been organic ketchup made from locally-grown tomatoes.

Nice part of the country you live in!

Spot On, Rogo! The "winners" were Zins and an off dry Gewurtz.
