Flamin' Hot Cheetos
Wed, 05/30/07 10:37 AM

On our recent trip to New Mexico, my daughter brought home a huge bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos (With Lime) for her friends in NYC. They say they can't get them here in NYC - that the used to be for sale, but no more. Funny, we like spicy food in NY (City at least). Do they sell them where you are? These are really spicy, cheesy, and leave red stains on your fingers

Oh yeah baby. Those are good and hot. One of the few mass merchandise products that live up the word hot on the label. Every Hispanic area market seems to carry these along with Sabrosos (sp?), another Frito-Lay owned company.

We have them in FL, can't say I've ever seen them with lime though. I have yet to try them.

We have both the regular and the lime in San Diego. My step-son prefers the regular and he is the "hot stuff" expert in our house. Doatsie

Wow NYNM, didn't know about tha Xtra hot. You may need to save a bag as a collectors item. My favs are the jalapeno flavor. They are not real spicy. Not sure how hard those are to find? I put some in some homemaid potato soup and it was great. The cheese and jalapeno flavors went good with tha taters. Cooking w/ Cheetos.... hmmmm could be a whole nother thread? Joe

Flaming Hots are available around here, but no lime flavored ones... (At least that I've seen).

I haven't tried cooking with them; but, I have devoured more than one bag with some good cold beer, and had the red fingers to show for it. I love those things.

I LOVE HOT CHEETOS. Me and my girlfriends eat them religiously. They sure do smell funny, but it makes up for it in the taste department! The best chips ever made. The end.

I buy the XXtra Flamin' Hot Cheetos for my wife (way way too hot for me... just one and I'm runnin' for something to drink). I've seen them here in South Florida now for just about a month. My wife loves them. She can go through a whole bag of the regular Flamin' Hot Cheetos in one day, but with these, it takes her about a week.

Flamin Hot ones you can get here in NJ. They're pretty good. The Jalapeno Cheetos were horrible if you ask me and not that hot.

Herr's Hot Cheese curls. I know they are bad. I now if down to the bone but I am still drawn to them. I'm glad my GIant no longer carries them. Didn't like the cheetos a few years ago. Sounds like they may have changed their formula.

The XXTRA Hots Flaming Cheetoes are here in Lanesville, Indiana in our little market/gas station in town. I haven't tried them but a bunch of the H S Cross Coutry Runners that I asked this morning (as they ran thru town), they are great ! I am not sure what that means and will try some soon.

Brand extension!! Sitting right before me is a new (?) snack from Frito Lay, called "Munchies" which is a combo product of Cheetos, Doritos, Rold Gold and Sun Chips (it says it on the label) and one of the flavors (the one I bought) is "Flamin' Hot" Brand Flavor (it says that on the label too). It's pretty good, but not "flamin'" - only the Cheetos in the mix are really hot (they are the Flamin' Hot Cheetos we've been discussing here) the pretzels are normal, not hot at all, and the other 2 are mildly hot. But they have a nice spicy taste. I got these in Albuquerque. Has anyone else seen Munchies?? (Those brand managers over at Frito Lay are busy!)

They are, sort of. I guess it's like the pre-packaged Chex Mix, a lot easier to buy it than to make it yourself. Anyway, the step-son said he liked the flamin' hot Munchies. He liked the heat and he liked the vairety of items in the bag ! Doatsie
