Flints' (or Flynt's)

Thirty years ago my friend was living the hippy life in Oakland, CA. He tells about doing day labor to get enough money to eat at Flint's Barbeque. According to him, it was wonderful! His stories are so good that I wondered if the place still exists or if anyone else remembers it.

So glad to know FLINT'S is open; I know they disappeared for a while. (Sentence commuted? Nah, nobody named Scooter ever worked THERE.) I lived a block & a half from FLINT'S in the mid-70's. I was a starving musician in every sense; coming back late from a gig, the aroma of FLINT'S lured you from miles, not blocks, away. I had a big old dog who used to park himself in front of FLINT'S when I was away. When I stopped in, the ladies would give me big old buckets of scraps for that big old dog. I am not ashamed to say I made him share them with me on many occasions.
