Florida Dogs

I will be traveling extensively throughout Florida in the relative near future but after checking Roadfood's Restaurant list I find not a single hot dog place. I see listings around Tampa in a posting but I am looking elsewhere too. I've checked out Holly Eats and found some. Any help is appreciated.

After living in Florida for close to fifteen years. I have to tell you of the best place to have a hot dog is in your yard or a friends yard. No matter how it is cooked or the brand it is and how you choose to eat it or whether or not it was even edible. The company you were in and the good time you have will make it the best hog dog you will ever have. When I read this post I wanted to reply with some good places to go. But when I started to reply I couldn't think of one place. But I did think of some of the best hot dogs I'v ever had. Thanks for the memories.

Here are two places in Florida where I have had good hot dogs: Mel's Hot Dogs. 4136 E Busch Blvd Tampa, FL DAYTONA CHILI STATION. 1903 S. Ridgewood Avenue South Daytona FL This is really neat place. It is spotlessly clean, the owners are very friendly and you have your choice of many kinds of dogs.

there are some good dogs in Melbourne florida, and across the Causeway in the Melbourne Beach area. The one in Melbourne is called "Mustard's Last Stand" or just "Mustard's" I cannot remember what it is exactly called, and the one in Melbourne beach area (I believe they opened another one in Satellite Beach as well) is called "Long doggers". Mustards has Chicago style dogs, and longdogger's has all sorts of dogs, but I have stuck with their chili dogs which are pretty good. There is a lot of good food in this area of Florida, from Mexican, to Thai, Sushi, American, and just about anything.

Thanks for the heads up on Big City Dogs. Is it new. I must have driven by that location dozens of times and never noticed it.

I can second the recommendation on "Mustard's Last Stand" in Melbourne (http://www.mustardsinc.com/). I've had to be down that way twice in the past year and each time got to enjoy a one of their Chicago-style dogs. Ok, maybe more than one..... TnGuy
