Flying Saucer Wafers Tue, 11/22/05 11:37 PM (permalink)
I just had a flash memory of a childhood candy: these were two curved wafers in pastel colors that were stuck together and had tiny hard "sugar balls" (I can't think of the name, sort of like sprinkles or jimmies)inside. They were about 1 1/2 inches diameter and sort of jingled when you shook them. In a pinch, the wafers could be used for "holy communion" if you were playing "church" (at least I did...)

Does anyone remember the "name" of these candies?

Yes, they were known as Flying Saucers or Satellites.

I believe this link will take you to them.

      We grew up eating these!
Every visit to Cleveland's westside market ended with a trip to the candy stand where mom would get us these, and the candy buttons on paper. Great memories.
