Or Papa Romano's ... their primary cheese is a combination of Mozzerella and Provolone (smoked provolone if I remember correctly).

Try making their Papa Romano's "3 Cheese Bread" at home ... an oblong pizza dough blank topped with the pizza cheese, feta and parmesan, then some garlic pwd sprinkled on top. They butter the crust when it comes out of the oven ... at home, I butter it before the toppings go on *and* after it comes out of the oven :-).

These 2 are the result of our DIL's latest attempt (actually her 3rd and 4th pizzas, ever!). One is a "Great White" (ricotta, mozz, and parm)with some fresh basil and roasted red pepper.



The other is plain with basil.



The "SuperPeel" has taken "peel-anxiety" out of the equation and using the dough cycle on her breadmaker takes the "fun" out of handkneading. Great pizza made at home is not that difficult.

Tempting close-up, Dog! But for the gorgonzilla cheese I would have a go at it. More traditional here this weekend with the 4 pies I made yesterday. The mostly eaten one has carmed onions and button shrooms, The uncut done one is a "great white" with mozz, parm, ricotta and garlic. The one ready for the oven will have just shaved pepperoni and the waiting dough ball became a 3/4 cooked plain pie destined for the freezer. -pb

As promised here is my Super Bowl pizza. Last week I made the mini tenderloin sandwiches to suggest a Super Bowl snack and I had left over breaded mini tenderloins that I put in the freezer. I took four of them and lightly fried them in a skillet with olive oil infused with fennel just long enough to lightly brown them but not completely cook them. Then I sliced them up into pieces. The pizza, in addition to the breaded pork tenderloins, consists of Roadhouse Original Recipe BBQ sauce, Monterey Jack and Colby cheeses, carmelized red onions, sliced mushrooms and Romano tomatoes.

Great looking pizza and great idea, Davydd! I am full on ribs and steak but that pie has got my stomach growling! BTW, the sauce you used on the pizza was the same I used on my rack. The sauce got 2 thumbs up from everyone. Will have to try it on my pizza next time.


PB, nice lookin ahbeetz as well! My wife being vegatarian, the white pizza shows up in my house quite a bit. Crust looks awesome!

Nice Pies, PB.

Here's what I made tonight.

Had my eye on some cherry tomatoes that have been hanging around the house for a couple days. Put those on a thin crust brushed with olive oil and garlic, and topped it with fresh mozzarella mini balls and fresh basil.




Made a deep dish pizza by frying up some hot italian sausage with onions, garlic and mushrooms, heavily peppered. Put provolone underneath, added crushed tomatoes, the sausage mixture, and topped with mozzarella.





Put it on pizza stones pre-heated to 450-500 on the grill.

One definition of porn is the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction. That would normally be attributed to sex but in this instance we are arousing the emotions with pictures of pizza causing me to head for the kitchen and not the bedroom.

GEEZ . . . I don't particularly like pizza, and I rarely eat it (although my wife LOVES it).

But these wonderful erotic photos are enough to change my obviously wayward habits (and taste).

I am also a fan of Proscuitto on pizza, sometimes with Arugula and freshly shaved Parmaesan.

But that Sausage, pep, mush is looking damn tasty right now.

Thanks for the compliment. I have been reluctant to post photos as I don't like to draw attention to myself. I have recently bought a camera and am just now starting to get used to it. I need to work on my lighting.
Frankly, I think I did something wrong. I don't think I uploaded the photos as they should have, but it seems that it worked. They are too big compared to the other pictures.

One thing that I noticed about my pie and a few others is that they would have appeared even better with a brush of olive oil around the crust. It tastes good and is a nice photo trick. Heck, it even works in real life and professionally as I will drip some oil on most of my grilled meats, giving them a sheen.

you got it all goin on, man. the pics are just the right size for my computer. Where do you store the pics for uploading?

I use photobucket.com and store the pics at 800 X 600. Seems to be the right size for Roadfood. Then it is as easy as clicking on the IMG code (automatically copies) then paste where you want them in your post.

Piece of cake.

I try not to "stage" my food, but I will take several pics of the same thing to get the best representation of the item. With a digital it's easy, just get rid of the ones that don't work and keep the ones that do.

Enjoy Food, Enjoy Photography. Two things that make life interesting.

I find that if you make your dough the day before and refrigerate it, it makes an even better crust the second day.

I don't like a lot of the "food porn" photos that clog this site sometimes, but these were absolutely beautiful and made my mouth water.

Once again, thanks. I also use photobucket, and in this case, I thank John A for his help and inspiration. There are other folks too, you are one of them.

I did not eat that much of either pie and just cut out a slice or two from them, leaving them whole. I brought them to my restaurant and reheated them over the hot charcoal embers. It created a great crisp crust that I was unable to do with a pizza stone on the bottom rack of a 550 degree oven. This was what I was searching for...

I want to try to make things look composed. I have realized that I have bachelor plate syndrome. That is, none of them match and are at least 10 years old. I have been scouring Goodwill for interesting platters to make things look better.

P.S. I love Scottsdale and saw the S.F. Giants in Spring training many years ago. Great town. Your photos of the American Southwest is encouraging me to move to New Mexico, as I have some property down there from my late grandparents. I am paying $15 per year on taxes for it!!!!
