Food based on the NY Giants' Schedule

I wanted to try something different this year with what I eat while watching the NY Giants play. So I decided I'm going to base what I eat on the food of the opponent. Only problem is, I don't know what the usual tailgate fare is in some of these places. So I figured I'd turn to the roadfood crowd for help. The rest of the schedule is as follows: 1. Detroit 2. Dallas 3. Seattle 4. Dallas 5. Philadelphia 6. Jacksonville 7. Washington 8. Minnesota 9. Philadelphia 10. Green Bay 11. Washington Any suggestions for good tailgate food based on these regions would be very much appreciated.

Hey that's a great idea. Unfortunately since i moved to Florida the only Giant games I get are the Sunday or Monday night specials. So my selections are very limited. Being from NY City I would pick a "SUBWAY" for every meal---The BMT, The 8th Ave, the IRT ----put your nickel in the turnstile and away you go. Next stop Coney Island a A Nathan's dog and fries.

When I think of Detroit food, I think of the Coney, like this beauty from American Coney Island.

For the Packer game bratwurst would be a logical choice. If you can't find brat buns in NJ a similarly robust, slightly crusty bun or roll would work. Brad

I'd do cheesesteaks for Philadelphia! And of course, wj-approved, lutefisk for Minnesota.

Oh definitely doing cheese steaks for philly. I am stuck on Seattle, Washington d.c, jacksonville, Minnesota etc. Philly is easy for tailgate food.

Washington DC Baloney Sandwich warmed over lots-a hot air. New England Clam Chowder to start followed by New England Boiled Dinner and Boston Cream Pie, or Boston Brown Betty.

There are a number of good catfish parlors/fish camps in and around the Jacksonville area. You are probably a little too far south for a low country boil, but depending on who you are serving, they may not know the difference - and Savannah is certainly close enough in my book (given Jax's lack of culinary uniqueness). I would second the recommendation for salmon for Seattle - or, perhaps Halibut. If you want to scale back on the expense, just serve coffee! DC is an international foodie paradise. You could try to make a multi-faceted international meal. Since no one else mentioned Dallas, and it is a bit of a culinary wasteland, too, you might try something like chicken-fried steak (or, of course, BBQ...but, Dallas is kind of known for bad BBQ, so you would have to make it inedible!).

I thought Dallas was known for everything fried? I was thinking of just frying up some butter and calling it a heart attack! haha. Though chicken fried steak sounds pretty good. I'm not sure if I can find alligator at the supermarket, but I'll look. Keep coming with the ideas!

Mmm...the State Fair of Texas, which is held in Dallas, is known for everything fried. Dallas, itself, not so much. You do worse for a representation of Dallas' culinary delights than chicken-fried steak.
