Food in Idaho

I know, I know, it's general but I'm not even in the States. I'll be visiting a friend of mine in Boise and we'll travel around the state - not even sure where. Northern Idaho has been suggested.

Any ideas where we could get some good food. I don't drive, sorry, so don't know your road system.

It's been a while since I've been to Idaho, but there are several good Roadfood restaurants in Couer d'Alene, including a burger joint where a hamburger or cheesburger costs $1. It's cattycorner from the Couer d'Alene Resort. All the Roadfood restaurants are on the main drag (the town is really small!) and in walking distance of the hotel.
