Food trucks with induction ranges? Anyone using them? Wed, 01/8/14 10:20 PM (permalink)
Just wondering about this method of cooking.  Instant heat up and all. Are they power killers?

My home unit runs off of 50a (240)...and goes up to 3700watts (the gas equivalent of around 26,500 btu).

If you are not heavily using your burners, the portable units run off a regular 120 outlet and usually put out 1800watts.  That's right at 13,000 btu.

I'd say just do some research of the power usages and see if your equipment is up to it.
