HHHmmm, salmon does not make it to my dinner plate. I do like liver, but there is a nice slice of it in the freezer still waiting to be cooked.
Lasagna, meatballs or meatloaf.[|)]

I have learned that if you cut up and dice anything real small and mix it in, I'll eat it...

I'm with you there. Except for See's, all American chocolate smells like cat sick to me. See's I like though. I must, seeing as how I plowed through a two pounder in two days at Xmas time.

Tomatos. I know most of the World loves them, but they don't taste like anything to me and have a slimy consistency. Cooked, they're fine, and in my adulthood I've learned not to wretch if they show up on a sandwich or burger. Luckily my Wife hates them more than I do.

Broccoli. Hated it as a kid, ate too much of it in college, now it's on my "two bites every five years" list. Unfortunately, my Wife does like broccoli, but she eats it outside of the house.

Jim - you reminded me of Swiss Cheese, it's been so long I almost forgot it exists. Nasty, plastic-y, gassy stuff.

Delicious Apples. I love Macs and all their relatives, Granny Smiths, any apple other than a delicious, red or golden. To me they have a nasty, gassy flavor that tastes like a cow smells.

I would love to love mushrooms, but I can't stand them. So, I miss out on a lot of interesting dishes.

I can't stand pine nuts or caraway seeds. One caraway seed will ruin an entire dish for me.

Nice looking stroganoff Theedge.

In theory, you would think I should love Chicken Parmigiana. But I am never happy with it when I order it in a restaurant. I may have to accept the the fact I just don't like this dish, unless it is prepared at home.

I'm not fond of Chicken Parm, either, but I guess for different reasons. I love a good restaurant marinara sauce, cheese, pasta or roll. But to me the chicken is a cheap stand-in for veal, and is frequently dried out. I don't hate it, it just seems to be not up to what I expect.

I can’t stand bananas. The thought of those mushy things just grosses me out. And what fruit ever doesn’t have juice? They are a dried-up excuse for any fruit.

Maybe it’s just the consistency, I don’t know. Never the less, they are nasty.

LOL Jim. Your list is a who's who of some of my favorite foods. except for the sardines, I can't stand canned fish - ooh! I got one! Canned fish - can't stand it!
I've even grown tired of canned tuna fish - even my old standby, canned albacore.

Sweets of any kind. Cakes, cookies, candies... The closest I get to sugar is my iced tea. I'm a salt freak. I salt everything before it's even tasted. Forunately I very rarely mess up a meal doing this.

I have never cared much for salmon or tuna steaks, and it seems everyone raves about them. I'll eat all seafood though with the exception of the dreaded anchovies. Chicken is a "blah" but I'll eat it meat --- much prefer red meat or turkey. Liver is a no no, as are tongue, brains, and chitterlings.

Re veggies I'll pass on the brussel sprouts but enjoy most other veggies.

I've never had a big sweet tooth, but enjoy most sweets except for malted milk balls.

I'm not much of a picky eater and much of that probably has to do with mom being a "this is what we're having for dinner" type, which I now appreciate.

Was your mom a Depression era person? Both my parents were, and I was brought up with "This is what I'm serving little mister. If you don't like it, you'll go to bed hungry. If I serve you a plate, you'll eat it." I still despise the vegetable trifecta I despised back then: Brussels, broccoli and cauliflower. And peas. Quadfecta. But I can't bear to waste anything (including money), and that comes from dear old ma and pa.

I can't stand any sour-ish dairy foods. Yogurt, sour cream or cottage cheese. I know they are good for me and healthy. But they really gross me out.

Over the years my dislikes have faded...mostly. I don't do Blue Cheese in any form, chunky--dressing--hidden in a salad. Take it away, please.

I have yet to have any squid that I could say I enjoy. It reminds me of chewing pieces of tires. I am told that it is possible to prepare it so it is not 'chewy', but I have never experienced that form.

I am not fond of fruit-jell filled chocolates. Always included in the general assortment of many candy boxes, they will remain in the box if I can identify them from the 'map' supplied. Or with a nibble off one corner if they are not labeled!

I like Red but not Black Licorce. But I do like Good & Plenty's, Go Figure!

I should like most diet sodas, but I don't.

Frozen Lemonade Concentrate makes a great mixer for Kentucky's finest Bourbons. Give me a 12oz can of concentrate and 8oz of good bourbon, over ice, and I will be a happy camper for a considerable length of time. I don't drink Gin in any form, no matter what you try and hide it in!

for some reason, I just don't like corned beef hash.

Seperately, I love every one of the ingredients. Together, it just doesn't do anything for me.

I keep trying it though.

- corned beef or pastrami (since somebody pointed out that pastrami tastes like hot dogs!) - they're both just too salty
- barbecued chicken: skin on or off, white meat, dark meat, doesn't matter
- pasta salad - except, for some reason, sesame noodles

Well, I must say I have not seen anyone mention "tongue." I remember growing up my mom and dad loved the stuff, still do I think. Just looking one in the package is strange enough, wondering where it had been and all. Yuck!!!

That's probably the weirdest thing I don't like. A few others include any soft fruit. I know it sounds wierd, but I'd rather eat a green banana or a rock-hard peach. I hate them when they turn soft. There's also oatmeal, cream of Wheat, and pudding. I could pretty much do without Spam too.

I must say though...got to have the anchovies and chocolate, thought maybe not at the same time!!! And lots and lots of garlic!!!

Cheesecake. It better have a LOT of crust, and a LOT of blueberries, and very little cheese.
Tapioca
Ham, in any form
Lobster, it does not taste like anything & I hate ripping the meat from the spine. Hate it.

My mom is German and grew up in Nazi Germany during WWII and there wasn't much to eat and there was a German soldier quartered in the house who ate first, so I'll say that has a lot to do with it! I don't like to waste anything either and the hubs and I are bargain hunters supreme! Mom's a good cook though and didn't really make anything I hated and she wasn't the "you clean your plate" type so it wasn't bad --- but there was certainly no special dinner cooked for me if I didn't want what she was making. She didn't make me eat the brussel sprouts or the liver though!

I just can't stand cooked carrots although I like sweet potatoes.
Don't like the taste of fresh tomatoes, although I liked dried and cooked tomatoes.
Lastly I can't stand the smell or taste of bananas, bologna & guavas. The smell makes me nauseous.
