Hey I am starting up a hot dog vending Business here in Northern VA, and I was wondering if anyone here buys foot long hot dogs, and buns in the DC area. What brand do you guys get and which do you feel is the best bang for your buck. Thanks

i don't have any advice in the hot dog arena - only that you should go eat at Bens Chili Bowl and get a chili dog and then figure out your business model. that place is legit DC cuisine.

He only said DC in the title, but meant NoVA. Just say VA. There is a difference in that people in DC fear crossing the river and have our own restaurants to tide us over in most cases. I'll cross for Eden Center or Mark's Duck House. That's about it.

I was fortunate to be able to get Sabretts ft long here in PA. I put them in a reg bun and they stuck out both ends. If you have a Giant Food store, ask them to get you a case. I did, and even got a special deal 25% off they day before they were to expire (store shelf life) they called me every week. But then again I was serving NYC truckers who were used to Sabretts. Go to Sams, Costco, or BJ's. I was able to obtain 1/4lb jumbo sabretts at Costco. CBB in PA
