For airplane lovers.....Beech to be part of Textron

Textron is taking Beech out of bankruptcy. Textron will now own Beech, Bell,Cessna, and Hawker. When Walter Beech died, his wife, Ann, took over the failing company, built it into a Fortune 500 powerhouse, and ran it for her entire career. Later ownership by Raytheon, and a leveraged buyout, combined with the ups and downs of the airplane biz didn't help.  I doubt that Beech will ever be independent again.

Maybe they'll make a "vintage" reproduction of the Bonanza now.

I doubt that they would want to build more v tail Bonanzas. In the reserves my boss was the CFO of a major insurance co. He called it the "V tailed doctor killer". The Debonair was the regular tail version, and they sold it long after the V went out of production. The Debonair was later called a Bonanza.
