I'm laughing that all of us wasting time talking about our love of food and culture would result in a best of award. Not complaining, mind you. Just amused at our inside joke. Somehow, Forbes and eating at dives and roadside stands doesn't mesh. Maybe that's where Malcolm and Liz were going all that time on his motorcycle.

I'm picturing Michael and Jane and Stephen accepting the 2 awards and asking all of us to join them onstage. I get a chance at the microphone and utter that famous line:"You like me, you really like me."
Bravo to Michael and Jane and to Stephen for his hard work on this site!

That's great. Thanks for "editorially guiding" us.

Now, we better get ready for an onslaught of visits from Forbes readers.

I once got 3 blue ribbon at the San Bernardino County Fair for some veggies I grew. They really didn't look very good to me but the $6 cash prize was useful to pay the admission fee to the fair to collect my ribbons!

When is the awards Banquet? Where will it be held? I want to ride in the lead Limo !!

Hey -- if there is a banquet, who's catering???

Couldn't you just see all of us showing up in our best roadfood garb to support the Stern's as they collect the awards? Yikes. What a sight we would be. We would HAVE to bring Clothier back just so that someone would be well-attired. The rest of us guys in ruffled tuxedo shirts would just not be pretty!

I am happy for Jane and Michael and the forums - they deservbe every recognition they may get.

But, I'm extremely uncomfortable to discover that I have anything in common with Malcolm and his "capitalist tool". I can't wait for the New Republic or the Nation or Mother Jones to get around to recognizing the great social equalizer that is "Roadfood".

What ruffled Tux shirt??? Heck I'm gonna wear my newest pair of JC Penny's bib overalls. They're only about 4 years old, almost brand new

THe forums are great and I applaud their creators--but please, avoid anything that approaches political commentary. Neutrally yours, BBQB.

The mere mention of "Forbes, The Capitalist Tool" is a political commentary. I reserve my right to respond in kind.

    Cheers, John

actually, there will be TWO banquets,as befits Mr. Forbes' wishes(I would imagine)..those of us who contribute regularly in good taste will enjoy a repast at Arthur Bryan's BBQ in KC. those failing our strict code of culinary decorum will have their meal at Bennigans(black tie)

Forbes needs a geography lesson.http://www.forbes.com/bow/b2c/review.jhtml?id=6885 Jasper is NOT in Alaska, it is in the heart of Jasper National Park in Alberta Canada, just north of Banff. We'll forgive the folks at Forbes for that faux pas because they had the sense to list Roadfood on The Best of the Web.
Mr. Mayor, the awards banquet could be catered by me as RickF has suggested. But please, NO ruffled baby blue leisure suit/tuxedoes! Only Carrharts (jeans in default)!

Thanks to Michael and Jane for Roadfood.com!
