Forum Search

Since we are essentially full time travelers, I am a heavy user of the forum "Search" function to get information from old threads about places we are going. In the past, the subject of the search was highlighted so I didn't have to read the whole thread to find the subject I want to review.
Am I doing something wrong in my search or has this feature been lost with the new format? I have been doing a search on "Monroe, LA" and some of the threads stretch for many pages. It sure would be nice if the subject being searched could be isolated to make it easier to find.

No changes have been made to how the search works.

Is there some secret to getting search results to highlight the subject of the search within the threads? Is there a difference when I request "search exact phrase" rather than "search all words"?

It should always highlight the results. Is it not working for you?

I have been checking this morning. The subject does highlight when I check "Search for all words", but it doesn't when I check "Match exact phrase".

I can't re-create your issue. Check out this link for an example:

Not to change the subject, but I have been meaning to ask what I'm doing wrong but for another reason. When I do a search and view a topic, then hit the "back" button, the page cannot be displayed and I have to re-do the search all over again. Is there a way to click back to the total search results?
I also had one instance where the searched on item was not highlighted. I can't remember the situation now though.

This is amazing. I have run through several searches, and the subject is highlighted for every one of them except for Monroe, Louisiana or Monroe, La. searched under "match exact phrase". Even Monroe is highlighted in other search modes.

So I guess I'm alright unless I want to isolate Monroe, Louisiana. And I have already read through the threads identified and picked out the Monroe locations even though they were not highlighted.

The highlight doesn't work when commas and other types of punctuation is used.
