I drove by there the other day and felt a tinge of regret. I have been renewing my appreciation of Second Poquonock Giant Grinder Shop near the airport in Windsor Locks. BTW: we're talking Connecticut.

I alternate between Chicken Cutlet (cheese, sauce, peppers) and the cold cut combo. Still my favorite lunch.

To revive this old thread...other great sub shops in Hartford area is Maple Ave. Giant Grinder and my favorite is Wethersfield Pizza House chicken cutlet grinders. They are absolutely huge. Also great there is the eggplant, it literally melts in your mouth.

Poquonock Giant Grinder in the little strip mall by the airport is very good too. One grinder = 3 or 4 good meals for me and their ingredients are excellent.

I really miss Franklin Giant, living in Daytona Beach FL. now. weathers much better, but I wouldn't trade it for a F.A.grinder. 85 degrees here today Maple Ave. is an in a pinch substitute. the best substitute was the old P&G just south of F.A. if anybodys comming to Daytona bring me a sausage grinder.
