I'm seeing them in the stores now. Any ideas/recipes what to make with them besides relish or sauce?

Breads, muffins, cakes, cookies, chutneys, relishes, pies, salads, dips, mustard, etc. There are dozens of recipes online for using cranberries.

i make an apple pie with chopped cranberries added that is great.---and cranberry walnut bread---both a quick bread and in a french style batard loaf--is wonderful -- the batard cranberry nut bread is really good for making french toast---or a sandwich with cream cheese and turkey!! a sauce made with cranberries and pan drippings goes REALLY well with a roast of venison---or lamb. Hope this helps.

I make this applesauce when cranberries, apples and cider are all inexpensive and freeze it to use all winter long.

          HOLIDAY APPLESAUCE

4 lb. washed sweet apples (Red or Golden Delicious, Empire, Winesap, etc.), cut into chunks (don’t peel or core)
          3 cups cranberries (12 oz.)
          1 cup unsweetened apple cider
          Two 3-inch strips lemon zest
          1/ 2 cup sugar
          3/ 4 tsp. ground cinnamon

In covered pot, simmer apples, cranberries, cider and lemon peel, stirring occasionally, for 1/ 2 hour or more, until apples are very tender. Add sugar and cinnamon. Simmer, covered 10 minutes. Discard zest. Pass mixture through a food mill. Add honey, sugar, or brown sugar to taste. Makes about 2 quarts. Can be frozen.

Thanks RR, and keep 'em coming. That's sort of what I was hoping for, home favorites. Fresh cranberries don't seem to be very popular in NO, other than making relish for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. I think I can buy the bags in the store and freeze them, right?
