If it is my Wife's Iowa style fried Chicken, I would be tempted to have it everyday. If not only once a month, with the exception of Strouds KC fried chicken which I would like once a week.

What defines "Iowa style"? My initial suspicion is that corn is somehow involved...

My grandmother who is now deceased use to fry chicken for breakfast about every 3rd or 4th day. They had a farm in upper East Tennessee of about 500 acres and they lived off this farm.

Breakfast was a super meal. Every breakfast was either country ham, sausage, fried chicken or pork chops with all the trimmings. Always fresh baked biscuits and gravy of the day.

Many stories about this farm has appeared on this site including the moonshine story and Thanksgiving hog killing time.

As much as I love fried chicken, I don't think I could eat it every day!

Chocolate, on the other hand...I DO eat every single day, without a problem! ;-)

This probably should go under the "Breakfast" fora, but I've known people who ate fried chicken for BREAKFAST every single day.
Fact is, The Gateway Cafe on North Avenue here in Athens has it on their breakfast menu.
Now I've got to encourage Mama's Boy to put it on their's, and to offer it hot OR cold!
Pullin' A Mental Pulleybone, Ort. Carlton in The Many Pieces That Are Athens, Georgia.

That sounds like one of my sets of Grandparents (not the ones I shared with MikeS). Granny would get up well before daylight and add some wood to her cook stove. The breakfast menu would include fried pork chops and/or fried chicken, her cathead biscuits, mashed potatoes, milk gravy, other veggies, fried eggs, sausage, bacon, and various preserves. There would be a pitcher of fresh milk and one of buttermilk on the table. That family worked hard and ate good.

WOW!!! What a question . . . and I have to wonder about WHY it was asked .

But here is MY answer: "it depends upon whether I had a choice of eating fried chicken EVERYDAY, or of starving."

I LOVE fried chicken (just like I LOVE cigars) . . . BUT in moderation please, according to Mark Twain!

I especially love fried chicken when it is cooked properly in a SOUTHERN style.

But, again, given a choice of culinary alternatives, I would prefer a VARIETY of entree choices.

On the other hand, if incarcerated in the Gulag, I would VERY MUCH welcome fried chicken EVERY DAY .

Now, could you explain why you asked that question? I'm really curious.

We may never know why this question was asked, Bill. It may have been someone with strict dietary convictions on a roll. My Mom's people subsisted on such a diet after years of restricted diets based on economic restrictions. Most people recognise they were healthier eating the poke salad, corn bread, and fruit and veggies they picked.

Here in the South, fried chicken, country ham and barbecue are a sort of culinary religion for most folks. If fried chicken were put in front of me every day, I'd eat it; same with country ham and barbecue. They are constant staples in my diet. I like all sorts of other things, too, but I'll never pass those three up. And when all three are offered? Decisions, decisions!

I don’t eat fried foods any more except on rare occasions. However, I do rotisserate a chicken every few days. I get three good meals from one chicken, so I have chicken nearly every day. I make stock from the bones.

I usually add celery, onions, carrots, etc. to add some flavor. Last time I added some mushrooms that needed to be used. Either that was a bad idea, or I used too many, but it came out a little musty tasting.

I have recently started freezing some of the stock in ice cube trays, and keep the cubes in a Ziploc for when I just need a small amount of stock for a dish.

I would have to venture a guess that the reason why this question was asked may be "Saturday nite alcohol" related?????????? LOL :)

Definitely. I LOVE fried chicken, fried pork chops, chicken fried steak...... honesly I've never had a good fried chicken made at home but there's a chain in San Antonio called Bill Miller's BBQ that has the absolute best fried chicken! I could it eat everyday and I'm not afraid to say so. Now of course, I don't actually eat it everyday because of how fattening and heart clogging it is, but I could. I remember when I used to work almost everyday for lunch we'd go to Bill Millers and I'd always get the 2 piece fried chicken with fries, a roll and sweet tea. I had to stop after awhile because it really isn't good for you...and i was blowing money when I could've just packed healthier lunches to take to work.

Traditional fried chicken everyday? probably not, since i try to limit myself to 20 grams of fat per day, but i do like the stuff :) my mother made skinless fried chicken when we were young, she would marinade it overnight, flour/egg/crumbs breading, shallow-fried in a cast-iron skillet. i would eat that everyday if i could, even without the greasy skin it was great stuff.

I probably could eat it every day for a while. My wife is always amazed how often I can eat the same thing and not get tired of it. lately for breakfast every day I have two cheese crisps made with small corn tortillas.

Something happened to me in my 30s, where my taste buds completely transformed. I used to love fried anything, now the thought of eating fried foods (with the occasional exception of French Fries) is a turn off. Fried chicken especially.
