RE: Fried Clams

So I still don't get why Fried Clams was moved to here. Isn't all food, unless raw or salads, cooked in some way, hence all food could be put under here? We're talking about fried clams, how good they are, and esp. places to get them, not so much how to cook them. Can we get this back under Seafood please? I had a hard time figuring out where this went, and others will too.

Whole belly fried clams

I am so disappointed that this thread that was so popular and many pages long was put into the Cooking Techniques thread because we were talking about fried clams. We weren't just talking about how to fry the clams, we were talking about where to get them and how good they are! Then why isn't every food in Cooking Techniques since all food is cooked in a certain way unless it's raw? So maybe we can try again to talk about whole belly fried clams. On the suggestion of another poster, we went to Hayes Seafood House in Clarence NY last summer. They special ordered the clams for us and dare I say they fried them up! They were so delicious, can't wait to go this coming summer again. I miss this forum in Seafood.

I'm so glad to hear the one in Clarence is still open. Maybe keeping two going was just too much. I know the owner said he'd like to retire sometime and he has all daughters none whom are interested in the business. He and his wife were so nice to us. They said they didn't think anyone ever drove 4 hours to eat there before! And we'll do it again this summer. What a treat to get the whole belly clams. Thank you so much for recommending Hayes. Oh, and I'm glad to see they moved the whole thread back here where it should be under Seafood! Thanks Roadfood Forum Moderators!
