I can't say I'm terribly surprised, they've been on a long, slow slide in quality for a long time.

Good! It was never anything more than a bad imitation of HoJo's, which also experienced a decline in quality.  Friendly's was never close to HoJo's at its best and slid even further than HoJo's at its worst.

The only surprise is that they've lasted this long.  Their ice cream is / has been of the poorest quality at a high price.  Their breakfast is pathetic and considering one can not get a sandwich or entree without paying for their disgusting fries,  it's a rather pricey place for a light meal.

Last time I was there (perhaps 10 years ago), I ordered a strawberry milkshake.  Oddly, it was served using vanilla ice cream.  Never thought having strawberry ice cream would be a special request.  Now that's strange.
