Frozen Patties VS Fresh

I know most of you would prefer Fresh over frozen but I have had some excellant frozen Hamburger patties before and was thinking ,How do you feel about them and what Brand do you prefer?I got some before from a Food service that were outstanding,I think it was U.S. Foods.They are really great for convience.

The Kobe-Style patties at Trader Joe's are excellent (not a bargain).

A better idea perhaps, is to prepare your burgers from fresh ground round or sirloin, and freeze excess. I find quality fresh ground and seasoned product (even if YOU freeze them), much superior and vastly cheaper than premade items. One can control size, ingerdients, seasonings, etc. You get what you buy (caveat emptor!) when you settle for a frozen burger patty.

Frankly I don't get frozen burgers. I get a pound of fresh ground beef or turkey, slap together 2 half pound burgers, one for my wife and one for me. If I'm ambitious I fry up some onions or mushrooms, but usually just slice a tomato. Slap burgers on buns, add tomato and ketchup, and dinner is served. No need to season meat that is very fresh. It has enough good flavor of its own!

I actually like a frozen patty -- currently prefer ground chuck -- because they keep their shape better while cooking and because I can sear the heck out of the burger and still have my preferred pinkish red inside

I used to pattie and freeze my own but I would forget about them and by the time I got back to them they were freezer burnt.
