Frozen precooked Alaskan King crab legs

Just bought 2 king crab legs, frozen (about 18 in. long , one has a claw) 2 1/4 lbs. how would you heat them up from 1/2 thawed? Boiling waterprobably, how long?

    Toss some crab boil in the water and steam them. Ten minutes certainly ought to do it, although for that small amount I'd likely take them out after five minutes of steaming.

    Thanks Michael, Isplit the difference 71/2 mins. came out great. probably 1 1/2 lbs. of meat.
    Adjudictor, probably about 1 1/2-1 3/4" in dia.
    For $9.98 per lb , definatly by them again. (Russian caught) what happens to all those caught by Tthe Alaska fisherman we see on the Discovery Channel?

    King Crab is already cooked and only needs to be heated. Don't overcook ! 10 Minutes steaming is way too much. My favorite way is to thaw the legs then remove all the meat. I then either saute in butter, or put in a baking dish with butter and some bread crumbs and back just until the butter is hot. The Russians are in super abundance and sold cheaply. Taste is ok, but not quite as good as the Alaskan. With the Alaskan you can get is either frozen or fresh cooked in season if you know the right suppliers. (it's always cooked as it spoils very quickly). Quality Alaska King Crab will cost from $3 to $6 per pound more than the Russian.

    I'd rather have the taste of the crab meat right out of the shell , 7 1/2 mins. was perfect.

    I've had good luck placing them on an oven rack and right into a 450 degree oven for about 10 minutes or so right from their frozen state. That way they kind of reheat in their own juices and the shell also creates a flavor vaccum. Take them out, let them rest for a minute or so and dive in. Cooking times may vary due to amount and oven ability.
