Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy are back Sun, 09/8/13 10:39 PM (permalink)
Sorry if this has been posted before, but General Mills has brought back the monster cereals Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy for the Halloween season. I'm pretty stoked as I havent had this since what,,,the late 70's or early 80's? I realize it will be different now with all the corn syrup and so forth, but I still have to try them. Call me excited for some nostalgic reason.

I saw Yummy Mummy along with a couple of General Mills' other "monster" cereals in a Walgreens a week or so ago.

When did Count Chocula go from having fangs to having beaver teeth???

I have been watching for the return of the regular Count Chocula and Boo Berry, our local stores only carry them now "In Season"

But I remember them well and They have not hit the shelves here yet.
        The candy has in tons!

I have had some count chocula (last night) and was TOTALLY disappointed, it had none of the chocolateliness it used to have.  My milk didnt even change to brown, or taste very sweet.

The Yummy Mummy was ok, but not the same as the old day

Bought a box of each and finally tried them out. Neither are what they were, but I can barely even stomach the Yummy Mummy. It tastes like baby aspirin cereal. I feared for the worst when I tried the Fruit Brute, but it tastes almost the same as Frankenberry to me. I'll get both boxes down eventually, but wont be going back for more.
