Fruit juice

Noticing that, of the 29 threads, 13 are about alcoholic beverages (not that I mind...) 14 and about sodas/pop,

I ask: What is your favorite fruit juice?

Me, I love grapefruit, also cranberry.

Pomegranate. It sure beats trying to seed one of those bad boys, and staining your best shirts :)

Pomegranate- by far the best- and not the cheap "cocktail" version. Second to that would be a good crisp flavored Apple Juice- ice cold and almost tart! Very refreshing.

When I go out to breakfast, I almost always order a large orange juice and a small tomato juice. A woman I used to date once told me that if someone wrote a book about me, it would be titled, "Large Orange, Small Tomato".

Grapefruit. Of course in Alaska you need to take out a loan to buy one and they're terrible. But here in Desert Hot Springs I just have to reach across the patio and pick them off the tree then get out the juicer.

The best juice advice I ever got was from a Delta flight attendant. Back in the 90's, I spent a lot of time in the air. Typically, on a morning flight, I'd order grapefruit juice. She asked if I'd be willing to try it differently. After she poured it, she added a splash of apple juice. The AJ took away the little bitter taste of the grapefruit. Excellent suggestion.

Cider for me. If you get can get the real unpasturised product all the better. I really like it when it starts to turn. It is enjoyable hot or cold and makes a great mixer also. Chow Jim

CK, this year's crop is unusual, the grapefruit are smaller than usual but sweeter. We also have an orange tree (not worth a darn) but the lemons are good.

Zman did make it back from Unalaska but it was the second trip to Kotlik that did him in....sleeping on a floor in a sleeping bag at the school, eating Hormel beef stew....not our idea of Roadfood!

Had the same problem because of the high acid, till I tried Low Acid OJ. Not a problem now, I just wish there was a low acid grapefruit available. If there is, I haven't run across it.

Freshly-squeezed OJ with some passionfruit juice is my favorite. I used to be able to make it with fruit from the yard, but hurricanes and citrus canker ended that.

I "Useta-could" knock back a half-gallon of Cran-Grape pretty easily. Same with the "Ruby-Red" Grapefruit Juice(cocktail). I do like V8 in it's regular and 'Spicy' flavors...but I pay the price for all the salt shortly after. When we avail ourselves of the freebie breakfasts in motels I will often over-indulge in the OJ.
I do like Fresh "unprocessed" Apple juice/cidar also....Ice Cold or mulled hot with cinnamon!

In fact ,except for Mango's and Persimmons, There aren't many fruits or juices thereof on my "yuck" list.

    Grapefruit.

Why can't you get fresh tomato juice?

Clamato ... The stuff is LETHAL what with all the salt, I hardly ever buy it, but when I do I drink it one quick wallop. There is something about it.

With a pregnant wife in the house, we have been stocking up on 100% juices, from Ruby Red, OJ, Cranberry, Cran-Pom, Tomato (V-8), and others. I'm really enjoying having a nice variety of juices in the house, rather than just the typical oj. And we only buy 100% juice. I have never stocked cocktail juices - even in my bar. I'm also a sucker for apple cider. I prefer to get it at the orchard unpasturized - but, given that it's February, I'll stick to pasturized and wait until next fall for the fresh stuff.

Cranberry, the real stuff, not the "cocktail." Try it mixed about half and half with tonic water...with or without vodks. Really good.

I've been trying to drink more Pomegranate juice ... they say it is a good anti-oxidant, I just don't know what an anti-oxidant is.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned V-Fusion from V-8. I drink about four big bottles of it a week. They have four flavors and they all have a good strong flavor. Eight ounces equals a serving of veggies and a serving of fruit.

Being on a "no processed food" kick, I have really been enjoying Naked Juices Pomegrante and Blueberry juice. Reasonably priced at Sam's and quite tasty!!!!

Red,of course...if they had white in the 50's,I never saw it or knew of it!
By the way, these days we drink Paul Newman's grape juice from Costco. Just as good...and a great buy. My kids drink it like water...and it still is a healthy drink!
