Does anyone remember a chain somewhat like them? There were a few in the Indianapolis area but I forgot the name! Thanks

That's the one! Many years ago, I went into the one on E. Washington St. on Indy's east side and tried to order a medium rare burger, but they said that they only served their burgers well done. Even a discussion with the manager couldn't change things, so I just turned around and walked out.

Interesting. I went to Flakey Jake's in Columbus twice. The first time I ordered and received a pretty darned good burger that I ordered very rare. The second time I went, about a month later, it was already closed.

I just Googled "Flakey Jake's" and learned that the chain went belly-up in February 1992. They had less than one hundred locations at their peak, and, at the time of their bankruptcy, they were down to just six restaurants.

Our Fudruckers in Wellington just closed down...another one bites the dust.
