I worked with a Philippine lady who married a NY Jew and they named their first boy Obi-Wan Abramowitz. Then there was Bill Lear, the founder of Lear Jet. Bill and his 4th wife, Moya would have 4 children; one they named Shanda Lear.

This Ciapetta is Steve without the h in Cia. Years ago I had an insurance agent named Roland Terranova. It was funny to me when it was said out loud. Bill Voss... do you know the car agent/seller in Medford by the name of Dick Hyman? I was introduced to him while sitting at a table at my cousin's kid's bar mitzvah. My brother kicked me under the table when he was introduced. We're both jerky kids when it comes down to it and had to fight from laughing.

As some of you know I have 8 kids from my first marriage (6 boys and 2 girls) We stuck with "J" names for the group, but the middle names were selected from various family members of the past. So when son Number 4 was Born on the Bicenntenial Holiday (July 4, 1976) Selecting Justin for his first name was easy. She (former spouse ) could not decide what middle name she wanted for several days...so I filled in the temporary Birth Certificate in New Jersey with the middle name "OTHER"... I thought that "JUSTIN OTHER BOWEN" had a real ring to it !!! I do believe that was one of the nails in the divorce coffin that was to surface some years later !!!

At my previous job we sent out some computer-generated mail to a client whose last name was Baldassari, but because the total length of his name was longer than could be handled the last 3 letters got cut off. The head of the accounting department was less than thrilled and convinced that we in the computer department had done it deliberately... Brad

We were already on the field and had been introduced one by one. I stood waiting for the announder to introduce the Westhampton team. They ran out one by one and faced us--- the guy facing me was huge and the announcer mis pronounced his name---instead of Plastoras ---he called him Plaster-Ass. This great big polish guy looked at poor little me and said ---if you laugh it will be for the last time in your life. I didn't laugh. Makes no difference we got swamped anyhow.

The surgeon's name that is going to remove a section of my colon in two weeks is Dr. Guttman. He said he's been teased about for years.

I used to work with a lady named Rose Bush, and there used to be a dentist in this area with the last name of Frankenstein. My father had friends who were known as the Woodruff brothers, Evan and Odd. It was not until I saw his obituary that I discovered that Odd's full first name was Oddlee. And there was Kuhn Campbell - his last name was pronounced with a silent "p" and a very soft "b".

Imagine going to a pediatrician named Dr. Needles- yes he really does exist. When my doctor was on vacation, I had to go to him, luckily it was just for an ear infection. There is also an attorney named Mr. Crooks that I know. When I was in elementary school, there was a teacher named Ms Gumbs. she ended up marrying a guy named Moeller. I'm sure if they were set up, it had to have been as a joke.

There's a guy running for State Treasurer in Alabama named Young Boozer. He's actually Young Boozer IV. The NPR News AQuiz "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" says it's an old family name and that it was given the family on Ellis Island, when an immigration official changed the original Young Boozer's name from "Lindsay Lohan."
