Before I-95 existed on old route 301 somewhere in Ga there was a joint called simply "The Pig" on way to and from Fl. Keys in 50's and 60's would stop and fill cooler with pulled pork and ribs and get a gallon jug of sauce.Absolute Q heaven ! Also,in same time frame,on"other side of the tracks" in Macon there was a real hand made open pit joint that would have been rated Z by the board of health but was also Q heaven---anybody know of these two joints---do they still exist?

The GA Pig is still there in its old rundown shack, and the one in Macon was probably Fincher's, but they moved to a newer location.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Ga Pig hadn't been there since 1865.

All of these places have now been upgraded by Sam & Daves BBQ1 on 4944 Lower Roswell Rd. in Marietta. Their website is www.lostmountainbbq.com 770-977-3005
