GOOD experience at Skelly's Hi Point, Absecon, NJ

I stopped at the "Hi Point" on Tues. April 1st. on my way home from work in AC... (I was still trying to make up for the BAD prime rib experience from the Rio Station the night before!!)

I got the 18 ounce prime rib, end cut, medium, to take out...
PRIME RIB $18.95, with a cup of extra au jus!!

I stop here once or twice a month (or whenever the need strikes)

Skelly's Hi Point Pub is on the White Horse Pike, (Rt. 30), about 5 miles west of Atlantic City. I recommend it for a pit stop before or after the casinos.

Even their pizza is decent, and they also have some interesting sounding breakfast pizzas.

END CUT , medium.....see the PINK ?!?
I should show this to any food server that tries to tell me that the end cut is always going to be well done!!
SKELLY'S HI POINT PUB, Absecon, NJ

It is a comfy , down to earth place, with TV's showing news and sports. And the best part for me is the "no smoking"....(since the NJ indoor smoking act happened a few years ago) The place used to be SO smoky; well, no more!

There are also reasonable priced sandwiches, like their homemade hot roast beef. And there is a smaller piece of prime rib available, and even a bigger one, too..

Not to be picky, or maybe, just to be picky, but wouldn't that just be with a side of "jus" as "au jus" would mean with juice. So in essence wouldn't ordering something with a side of au jus, be saying with with juice. We have been working on our French as we are going to France in several weeks. Luckily we started planning this trip in June 07, and have already purchased much in dollars, i.e. rental car, B&B's and other lodging, tickets to venues and events, even prepaid some meals before the buck really cashed it in. We usually eat our big meal early in the afternoon, will use markets and grocers for other meals, and will do as we always do and search out where the locals eat for those times when we want a special meal.

As always, Ellen, just love all your reports. Especially from my home state of NJ! I think that end cut looks just about perfect! Thanks for sharing.

good, good , good, I think you will really like it, Harriet...
for $19.00, you get a nice hunk of tasty meat....18 ounces
(not saying it's PRIME meat, but it's very decent, and has a nice flavor) I've also taken out the "bar pie" along with the prime rib.
And it was a good pizza. Also their hot roast beef sandwich is excellent.
