40mph winds will do that to a brotha... He's a pro that came down from CT to MD to do that... You wouldn't even believe me when I told you how much that cost

    Sick!
    I love that graffiti style.
Lemmie ask ya, how did you prepare the van surface. Is this spray paint on paint?

My van is painted a dark color, but the sun and time has taken its toll. I've been wondering how to ultimately do the outside. Wrapping is expensive, but shows very nice. However, I heard that in order to do a wrap, the painted surface has to be in relatively good shape.

it's pro grade graffiti spray paint called Montana Gold. It's NOTHING like spray paint but it's an aeresol can spray, has different pressures and interchangable caps.  The paint surface was a glossy white. Stuck very well. No need to prep the surface with that stuff.  That stuff doesn't come off easy.

That's very cool! I thought about hiring a graffiti artist to do my truck. But the trucks I've seen so far haven't looked that great. On the other hand, yours looks awesome!

This guy came down from CT to MD to do mine. Up close you will see the runs and spatter marks from the spray but that's what its all about.. It's street art. but from 4ft away you would never know it was done that way. It was under 1k for the entire job and when he's done the job today, I'll post the rest of the pics, It's mind blowing and I can NOT wait to drive it down the street !

paint should be the very last thing you should do. Especially if you are moving in equipment into the vehicle still. Get all the outside work and inside work done first. You scratch a new paint job and trust me you'll be pissed. I have to figure out a way to get this thing clear coated. No one will touch it without sanding it and i'll straight up break someones hand if they sand it. I'm going to try some different sealant and see about rolling it on. ( in small areas first of course ) LOL

Awesome job. Looks great. Really great. How long is your truck front to back? Oh never mind I see 18 bricks. LOL I can't imagine how many cans of spray paint it took. Wow good job buddy.

Suggest contacting the paint companies where the artist got his paints and ask them how to seal it. They should know what works best on their paints.

Great work. I think you got a deal too.

I love the idea of doing a "casting call" for local graffiti artists and looking over their portfolios and bids on the job.

I have mixed ideas on how to adorn my truck once its done. Its great to look at good examples like this.

@ DR of BBQ  that's the thing, they contact the artists to come out and do the work on the buildings. They pay for their paint supplies and thats it. It's a way for the real dealers to get their name out. Facebook did the same thing only they paid the guy in STOCK a year back to do graffiti work in their offices. The guy will be a millionaire over night when the stock goes public.

the truck looks friggin' great. just wish the lettering was larger on service side. something i learned along time ago is the bigger the font, the farther away you can read it and at 55 mph you wanna get read. the truck is a rolling bill board for your biz so its important but truck still looks great. if it has to be sanded, get a pack of 3M RED scotchbrite pads and lightly buff the surface,  wipe with tack cloth, then clearcoat. i went to my paint supply store and got everything i needed for my last job. theyll sell quality clear that can go into a pint aerosol can/glass bottle and has its own propellant. stuff works great and you can do whole van for way less than 100.00. the sun is brutal and you wanna keep it fresh for as long as possible.

id be totally happy with that on my trucks!! congrats
