I need some advice on cooking 20 lb. turkey on my roaster oven. I am gonna add stuffing to this bird. Also it says to add water on this roaster oven. Do yall add water on the roaster oven? Do yall cover your turkey with foil or not? Will the foil burn if added to the turkey? Im really green about this roaster oven. First time cooking on roaster oven. So i want it to come out good. Also i need some more ideas on what to cook on this roaster oven. Any ideas!!! DEBBIE.

Well, as for the foil, no it won't burn, that's kinda the point of having foil . However, why would you need it? Your roaster oven should have a lid. Now for the water question. Yes I would add some water in the pan, I always do. Does your roaster oven have a wire rack for in the pan (or do you have a wire rack that fits in the pan)? I recommend using one.

Well I hope this helps you.Ive been roasting my bird ever since my kids bought me a giant roaster .what I do is leave the rack in(if yours did not come with one, then you can put a metal cookie cooling rack in the bottom.for an even easier cleanup , line with heavy duty foil and then put rack in.Then stuff your bird like you would normally do and place in roaster and if you dodnt get a book with yours well anyway before I put the lid on i put more foil over and then put lid on ..this keeps in all the flavor and taste.about 30 minutes before it is time to come out .I remove the foil and let it brown a little more,,hope this helps. And also you dont have to use water if its on a rack ,anyway you wouldnt want to if you are stuffing it because it would make the stuffing really mushy.
