I can't speak for everyguy but personally I HATE the taste of makeup! other than that, my suggestions would be , cold adult beverage, dinner in front of the tv, maybe a spritz of wd40 behind each ear...

    Hello All,
You try to please your man?
I live in the wrong household.
I come home from work around 4-5 a.m.
    1. I empty the diswasher.
    2. Feed the dogs lite meal and let them out
    3. If there are clothes to wash, put them in them in the washer and
empty the drier if anything is in it.
    3 1/2. Drink Beer.
    4. Get my son's med's ready (he's autistic) and prepare a breakfast for him.
    5. Wake my wife, then wake my son, (around 7 and then 7:30)
    6. When they leave, sweep the floor, vacuum the carpet.
    7. Let the dogs out again.
    8. Drink more beer.
    9. Empty drier of clothes if I'm not asleep, and fold them and put them away.
10.Go to bed, wake at 4-5 pm, let wife take a nap, and give son more meds, let
dogs out and in, out and in, give son snacks, make my supper, shower, and put
on a silly outfit, (uniform for work), wake up wife, and go to work.
No Suggestions needed as the other one makes enough for me.
Copper, you sound good to me.
The only suggestion I could add is do something that makes you happy.
I drink beer, but it really is a pain reliever at times.
Really, find something that makes YOU happy, and it will spread.
    Take Care,

    Fieldthistle,
You know I like you loads, but what is your wife doing all the time you are cooking, cleaning, working, and taking care of your son?
The picture you painted sounds like a single father.. not married..until you wrote the word WIFE---so I am confused here.

    Hello All,
Roosy90, the wife is a good mother and person. She is highly dedicated to her
career. I apologize if I seem to be disrepectful to her.
I share in the taking care of our household, am not the total caregiver to
    the kids and dogs.

    hear hear well said!

re:makeup... a little goes a long IMHO but when the candles are burning, the fermented grapes flowing and thoughts are turning to spring, you lean close and brush your lips over her cheek and end up with a half inch layer of base/powder/foundation/powder/concieler/powder/rouge on your lips.... well perhaps nuzzling her shoulder isn't so much amourus as it is an attempt to wipe off this foul tasting paste...

I don't normally wear makeup, because it's impractical at best for work. Fortunately, one of the things he told me when we first met was how cool he thought it was that I don't, because he hates women made up to look like something they're not.

I usually make sure my hair looks nice, and I use the shampoo and conditioner he loves the smell of when I know I'll be seeing him. Other than that, it's pretty casual, and we both like it that way. I cook sometimes, he cooks sometimes. I usually come over early and clean his apartment for him on weeks I know he's slammed at work and won't have time or care enough to do it himself.

Sounds like you're doing things he likes, so if it works for you, then it's the right bunch of things to do.

    roosy,
    how's this for mothers day?
after saturdays catering job my wife does not have to help with cleaning two smokers, washing and waxing 8 x 18 feet of diamond plate flooring, cleaning and polishing all the stainless steel in the rig (two steam lines and a 5 foot hood and 8 feet of it behind the smokers) washing and waxing the rig exterior. this had her a little put off and she demanded to know what her exact job was. advised her her exact job is to keep the beer cold and taste test it every so often to make sure that it hasn't gone "off" and to stay out of the sun since she has red hair and burns ez here in florida. oh and i am cooking dinner for her tonite but that is no biggie since i always cook (hey i get home 1st so it always had made sense)

I am disgustingly self-centered when it comes to this stuff, but it has served me very well. I wear, and love make-up...I consider it harmless fun and enjoy it immensely. Although I am in my 40s, I refuse to wear "mom" clothes, and love trying new fashions. I whiten my teeth. I recently tried botox (not sure if I'll bother with that again...didn't do much). I got Lasik surgery a few months ago. I will, in the future, probably get porcelain veneers for my teeth. A tummy tuck is not out of the question. I get manicures and pedicures. I have regular visits to my local upscale salon. I am thoroughly high-maintenance, and I make no apologies about it.

But I do all of the above for me. My hubby, who is as downscale as I am upscale, loves me for who I am...an impatient, Type-A, overeducated snob. Am I lucky or what??!! (clearly, I married someone much better than me...)

The only advice I can give you is to be yourself. Trying to change who you are to impress someone else always backfires. I could never be an "all-natural", hiking/backpacking/camping type of girl, and I'd be miserable if I tried to be that person. To thine own self be true!

Damn Joanie, you sound like my wife . . . except she GOT the tummy tuck.

Yea, I know, it says "girls only," but I've always gotta peak. . . sometimes I see something really cool and sometiime I get . . . well, this. . . I was hoping for something a little more. . . anyway. . . Copper, I have three words for you. . . .

    lingerie,
    lingerie
    lingerie.

It flatters, it covers, and like a buddy of mine said one day when we were admiring a not all the good looking woman at lunch one day "ya know, you can put an old hound dog in high heels and stockings and it'll look good."

I figure after 7 kids and 21 years he knows how I feel and I don't have to dress to impress for him to stay interested. Besides, me wearing make up might cause him to have some kind of seizure..he's never seen me in it lol

The only things he insists on are that I don't cut my hair and that I have long fingernails and keep them painted. He paints them for me though or they'd never get done!

I feel like I am in the dark ages.

I am not a "womens rights" person, but then again, I expect my man to do for me, as mcu as I do for him, as PRISONCHEF has done for the love of his life.
Kudos-Prisonchef-I see you are the only man that responded to that, and I hope you do more than clean the fryers once a year for her.

But then again, I am overweight and not in the class of the women that have replied here.

I would'nt know where to get flowers and candy! Last romantic thing I got for a lady was a nice graphite casting rod with a reworked antique Pflueger reel and a belted tackle box for wadeing cricks. Lordy that gal could fish! When that 'ol girl went down the road she seperated me from some of my best equipment and a bunch of my shirts. What's up with that shirt thing? Don't seem to matter about education, economics or upbringing, ladies always end up with my shirts!

Ha ha what a hilarious topic! I wear light makeup but there is no painting of the toenails going on. I keep myself fit, and that is as much for me as him. This year we'll celebrate our 16th anniversary with a trip to the Bahamas. We both share in the cooking, and yah he'll yell to me "a brew!" and I'll get him one. Moi has discovered the secret to a good marriage: communication and patience and not stewing over things but getting them out and working them out.

Lleechef and Zman have a fishing boat (yacht) that they stay overnight in. Several on Roadfood has been on it. She has got that but she needs a liquor store.

Seriously, from what I have read, know and talked with, Lisa is a very fine woman.

    good responses here!

I think that when it comes down to it, most men are really simple....
(it's us women that do way too much of the "analyzing", etc)

Never been married, but I've lived with a guy a few times.....

The ones I've been with, as long as they've got food, shelter, and a little romance, they're happy......(and I rarely cook , and I'm not much of a cleaner) (but I'm a good nurturer!!!)
