Going back to School after mulitple decade.

My bride and I will be traveling through the Dallas/Fort Worth area around lunch time, on our way to her 20th college class reunion in Abeline, Texas. Is there a great "dive" that should not be missed, that anyone would recommend. She always tells me that I take her to the "finest" places on earth, and I would hate to disappoint her. I do not eat Chitlins, Tomato Aspic, or Manwich, but outside of those, we are pretty much unbiased, especially when the adventure is atmosphere and great food. Please share your thoughts or suggestions. Best, Got Tea!

Go to Dave's Place at Exit 501 on I 20 in Terrell, TX. It's laid back and upscale fare with a garden that leads down to river. Dave's Place @ 210 South Virginia Street, Terrell, TX 972 - 524 - 1533. Sweet GA Brown's BBQ is outstanding also at Exit 472 off I 20. Sweet Georgia Brown BBQ @ 2840 E. Ledbetter Dr., Dallas, TX. 214 - 375 - 2020.

I'm very fond of the Celebration Restaurant at 4503 West Lovers Lane, though I wouldn't call it a dive. It's Southern comfort Food, with side items served family style. Note that you can get seconds on your entree, or a portion of any cheaper entree. 214-351-5681 http://www.celebrationrestaurant.com/

Thank You for the time taken to throw out these suggestions. I will check them out. This will be impressive when I drive up to this place, and my bride will ask me how in the world I knew about them. Thanks again for the tips. GOT TEA!

Fred's is Off I 30 but not too far out of your way. It's a dive in Ft. Worth you should not miss. You will be on I 20 going W. Take Highway 80 near Terrell, TX and go to I 30. Go through Dallas, TX on I 30 to Ft. Worth. Get off at Exit 13 off I 30 to Summitt Ave. Turn right on Summitt and go to W Lancaster. Turn left and go 1 mile to Currie and take a right. Fred's is on your right. Take I 30 W after you eat back to I 20. Fred's Texas Cafe @ 915 Currie Street, Fort Worth, TX 817 - 332 - 0083. http://www.fredstexascafe.com/ http://www.fredstexascafe.com/texas%20highways%20mag.htm

Well after getting lost in Dallas, we made it ABELINE. May I suggest if you are ever in ABELINE, a couple of places for chow. One is "Ann's Thai Kitchen" (used to be Ann Thai Kitchen) the other is Harold BBQ, and the other is the BEEHIVE. All good marks.
