RE: Going to Israel - Restaurant suggestions?
I'll echo Bushie's statement-----most time when I was there I ate felafel, schwarma or Israeli and Turkish salad in pita at carts or stands that were superb----roadfood at it's best. The only actual restaurant I remember was in the Old City of Jerusalem. "Uncle Moustache" was the typical Arab restaurant----and the food and Turkish Coffee were great!
If the roadside peddlars are still there-------I think the best pita I ever had was cooked by a street vendor----on a garbage can lid outside of Eilat. I still think of the warmth and lightness of that pita!
