Good burger at Longhorn Steakhouse

Make me number 2.

My wife thinks I am a big pile of number 2, but I digress.

Having read all this praise, and having not set foot in a Longhorn for years, and most importantly, in the mood for a burger -- I went there tonight specifically for the burger.

In a word - ok two - not good

First, it's 9 bucks. I'd pay that and more for the best burger in the world, but this was not it, not close.

Second, it's a steakhouse, and yet they do not cook the burger to order. You get it medium or you don't get it at all.

Third, the slightly stale and overlay soft bun was nowhere near up to the task of encasing and handling the 8 ounce burger. It was falling to pieces almost before I picked it up the first time. To use a phrase I first read over at Beef Afficianado (or was it A Hamburger today?), the bun-to-beef ratio was waaaaay off.

Fourth, the lettuce is shredded. Shredded. Come on. 9 bucks, you aren't supposed to be serving a mcburger

Finally, and most damning, there was very little beef taste or juiciness.

All that said, I don't doubt that the rest of you had a much better experience than I. I suppose that the consistency from one location to another is off. I wish I could try one in ya'alls locality....

Come on down, TJ. I have three Longhorns within twenty miles who will make you a decent burger.
