I'll be attending a convention in Cherry Hill, NJ, a couple of weekends from now. Are there any good places to eat in that area?

The Kibitz Room, in nearby Voorhees on Springdale Road, has the best French Fries I have ever tasted, and a great carving board-style deli. My highest recommendation.

If you're willing to drive a bit, I recommend going to Mastoris. It is perhaps the largest and tastiest diner that I have ever been to. It literally serves anything you can think of. One of my favorite things is the cinnamon bread, usually served as a bread appetizer. Check out the website: http://www.mastoris.com

Yes you are in the heart of Cheesesteak country. Many people like John's on Rt 73 just east of 295, but if you have time for only one visit make it one of the Gaetano's locations. You can read some of my earlier comments at http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3251&whichpage=3 This is the Maple Shade location which is west of 295 on Rt. 73 just past Kings Highway if memory serves. I'm pretty sure they have a website. There is supposed to be a Weber's Root Beer stand near Kings Highway and Rt. 38.

I'd say Big John's, as mentioned above (but on Rt. 70 headed to the shore, not Rt. 73). Great steak sandwiches, great hoagies; get the Italian. Big John's has a "John" theme; e.g., the mens' room is the "Elton John" and the ladies' room is the "Olivia Newton John." And Mastoris is about as good as diners get (a review on this site), though a bit of a drive; Ponzio's, on Rt. 70, is a carbon copy (the cheesecake is always great). I've been to the Gaetano's in Willingboro (a bit of a drive); if the one in Maple Shade is the same, great stuff. The Weber's is on Rt. 38, between Cherry Hill Mall and the Pennsauken Circle; like Stewart's, for root beer and '50s drive-in stuff.

Gordon, Thanks for the corrections and clarifications. Thanks for the detail on Weber's. I really want to get there.

My favorite place in that vicinity is the Elgin Diner on Rt. 168 just south of Camden. Great diner menu and they do their own baking. The diner is in pristine condition.
