Sad, isnt it?
Binge posting at roadfood.
I wonder if there is any hope for me?
As my dad used to say,"You're gonna miss me when I'm gone".

I would never knock Roadfood.com if I ate somewhere that had a very good review but when I went there, I got a very bad meal.

Places have bad days, I know a couplt times in my lefe that I had a great meal at a place, I knew people that were coming into the place, when I was leaving, the next time I saw them they would say "what in the heck is wrong with you, that was the worst meal we ever had." So I guess You can get a good dinner or a bad dinner at the same place on the same night.

I think it is the same as anything that is reviewed or evaluated by others. I have been to movies or listened to music others have said was GREAT, and I hated it. I take all advice and reviews with a grain of salt...especially when I don't know the reviewer.

There's no way this site will survive without BakersBoy.

When people leave, can't they just go quietly? No one gives a sh*t anyway. It's like announcing the 3000th fart in your life.

Wait. I've got it:

"Roadfarts are almost always informal and inexpensive; and the best Roadfarts are colorful gaseous anomalies enjoyed by locals (and savvy travelers) for their character as well as their bouquet."

Great analogy. But there have been some poignant goodbye posts that provide entertainment while affording a peek at how the dearly departed REALLY feel.

For instance, the witchy Meowzart's dramatic adieu wherein she fired off a few choice foul epithets at the board in general. Or the ever ladylike chezkatie who appended A.M.F. to her thespian goodbye effort.
Hint: The A meant Adios, but the M.F. wasn't intended to be My Friends.

How can people just stay on the topic of where to eat day after day? You can tell by the limited number of BB's posts that he hasn't been here long enough to understand that the "beans in chili" and "Texas vs. Tenn" BBQ topics can get TIRED. Sometimes we need to talk about recipes! There are recipes in many of the Sterns' books.

We all have to take a break from the internet now and then. And sometimes we have to discuss birdfeeders. And sometimes we just have to make fun of eachother.

Also, the beauty of Roadfood is that you can go ADD YOUR OWN UPDATE if a place has gone downhill (Cassell's, cough cough). If a restaurant has gone downhill, there is a lovely feature where you can tell people.

And buy a newer printing already.

I spell it "ketchup" and I feel quite strongly about that. Dang. Catsup. It's the 21st century!

I'd really like to know what I have done to people here to bash me so?
I thought this was a place to put your thoughts, and as random and useless as they seem, I am not the only one.
I guess I am a pathetic old lady who has nothing to do but post on here?

fpczyz - Thanks for making my end of day, a sticky one (I spewed vernors on my desktop when I read your nice post). The pasta response made my day...

Roossy, I hope with your history here that most of anything that you *might* take as a slight to you personally, would just roll off your back. If not, send them my way, and I will at least sin upon their names You as a nice person don't need to deal with family members that need to put their beer down. We "won't" invite them to the next get-together :-)

I came here late. What is that above? Catfood Hotpocket?

I'm sorry. I know I'll get flamed for that. It probably tastes wonderful.

I like this site. If I want roadfood info or reviews I go one place. If I want food banter, I will go another place here.

Why should the site have to be so structured and serious?

Hey!! I liked Roossy's purple runza. It was like, food from outer space! It didn't even look real.

And I just love to say Roosy's runza rock. I couldn't eat one, cause I hate cooked cabbage (sorry, Tara. I love you though).

Xannie, are you coming back?

Thanks for the kind words Xannie and Roossy! Lots of class here including both of you!

The title of this thread reminded me of that song .... from the old Lawarnce Welk show? It was close to the title of this thread. I can hear the melody but can't remember the words ad couldn't spell them if I could. Hmmmm?
