Google closing notices

There's an article in todays NYTimes about a problem Google and Yahoo, and Bing are having with fake notices of businesses ( frequently restaurants) being wrongly listed as being "permanently out of business". These fake notices are from competitors, troubled adults, unhappy customers, and children acting like children. If you rely on such notices when traveling or otherwise looking for a place to eat, it would be wise to check it out to see if they are really closed before you pass them up. Cheers, John

Now that's interesting. Troubling and intersting, both. Anyone willing to list my ex place of employment?

Just another reason I never trust online reviews.

What else disturbs me, besides this kind of activity, is getting an e-mail from one of my personal contacts, then opening it and finding a scam or an ad for something.I do not know how these people tap into others e-mails.

I've been getting those, too, but all of mine have only had suspicious looking links inside. Thankfully, they looked strange enough that I simply deleted the emails.

I learned to really look at the links, but of course before that I opened them, glad to be in touch!

Earlier this year I was using Google Maps to find the location of 1 of our branch stores and was quite surprised to find that it was marked as closed. It's since been corrected but I have no idea how long the flag was there or if anyone else would've ever caught it! Brad
