Grandpa Joe's Candy - Pittsburgh Strip District

Over the weekend we were in the 'Burgh for a quick birthday celebration.  Saturday morning I went to the Strip District and saw there was a new (to me) candy shop called Grandpa Joe's.

They had all types of 'old time' candy and in the back of the shop, they were showing 'Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (I presume continuously).  Very nice store.

Thanks for the tip.  I haven't noticed the place, but will be looking out for it now.

Saw a place just like this on Emilia Island FL. All the old penny candies and stuff I hadn't thought about in years. Charleston Chews come immediately to mind.

bb, it is pretty close to the Polish deli and on the same side as Enrico Biscotti.

They definitely had Charleston Chews, brisketboy, along with just about anything else you could probably think of.

Yes, you are correct. I think I loaded up and brought a bunch home because my children had never seen or tasted anything like this. If memory serves they had them little wax bottles with colored sugar water, licorice nips, candy cigarettes, (that's how they started getting us hooked.) etc. Yeah I loved that place always drove down from Kings Bay to load up on candy.
