Is that a wet-bottom or a dry bottom shoo-fly pie? Looks pretty good to me. Gotta make your own if you want a good one, I've never had a great one in a restaurant, even in Amish country. Anybody interested in a shoo-fly CAKE recipe? It's nice and moist, spicy, and really easy. I'll post it if anyone wants it. It has the four basic food groups in Amish country: flour, fat, sugar, salt. Also molasses, allspice and other goodies.

I love a good, wet-bottom, heavy-on-the-molasses Shoofly pie. A good one is sometimes hard to find. The last good slice I had was at the Kutztown (PA) Pennsylvania German Festival last July. It came from a stand set up by a church and I enjoyed my slice as I sat on bleachers and watched square dancers do-si-do-ing.

I had shoofly pie at a huge buffet place in Lancaster, PA. The best I recall was that it was pretty goood. Perhaps similar to pecan without the pecans with some different spices. I guess the molasses made a difference also. Thanks for sharing the pics with us. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Smith Knoxville, TN That is a good discription. I made this one with sorghum molasses and the topping was like you would put on a Dutch apple pie. It was very rich. Butch
