Haagen Daz "Five" ice cream.... Mon, 06/29/09 11:55 AM (permalink)
Just tried some...the brown sugar flavor. Awesome! Tastes just like the old Mary Jane candies with that subtle hint of molasses.

I had tried the brown sugar flavor also.  I thought it tasted burnt.  It was edible, but nothing I'm going to buy again.

To each his own....it's the molasses flavor that makes it unique. I like it because it's distinctive and not a bland run of the mill flavor. Did you try the ginger? Do you like scrapple with molasses slathered all over it?

I had the Passion Fruit and I found it to be utterly wonderful!!!

Which one to try next??? Possibly the Ginger. I hope it tastes like Ginger Snap Cookies.

Hey Beverly...just served my daughter a couple of scoops of Passion Fruit and told her I'd give her $100 if she guessed what it was....she didn't. Thank goodness. Anyway, the ginger is great as well....very dominant ginger flavor. Would be great with apple pie. I was thinking that the brown sugar would make an excellent "Turtle Sundae". The mint is low key and not too strong. Chocolate is pretty much just good chocolate ice cream. Glad you like the Passion Fruit. Try the brown sugar....and then tell me it doesn't remind you of Mary Janes.

Just wondering how this thread got shifted to "Fast Foods, etc"? There are plenty of brand names listed in the ice cream and custard specific forum. Just wondering....
