Ham Sandwich from Princeton, Ky. Tue, 01/18/05 2:02 PM (permalink)
Went to Newsom's Old Mill Store and had one of there famous Country
Ham sandwiches. They recommend no spreads and if you go there buy
2 because after you leave and eat the one you wished you could
eat the 2nd one.Something about the way the ham is prepared makes
it outstanding.
Will never miss this place again on my way from Wisconsin to Florida.
Also buy a jar of there jam.

And just what does a Birdhunter from Wisconsin hunt? After all, there aren't any grouse in Wisconsin.

Are you speaking of Colonel Newsome's? I've bought several hams from there and have never been disappointed. The people are very friendly as well.

I haven't been there, but just up the road in Dawson Springs, I had a country ham sandwich that was excellent.

Better yet, order a half ham from a reputable Kentucky purveyer like Broadbent and make your own--lots of 'em.

            Michael,
What do yu know about grouse hunting in Wisconsin?
Where's home? LaCrosse here.At one time it was the best grouse
hunting any where in the state, now we go around Winter's in the
Thornapple River area. The birds are on the lowest cycle IF you
            know anything about grouse hunting.
