Hamburgers On a Hot Dog Cart

I've been getting a lot of requests for hamburgers on my cart. I'm not opposed to the idea at all, but I have no idea how to go about it. I don't want to mess with any raw meats, and I'm not sure where to look to find precooked patties. Even if I did find some, what would be a good way to prepare them, assuming from frozen? I haven't tried it, but I would imagine steaming a frozen patty wouldn't come out very well. And then there's the issue of keeping them warm, which I can't think of anything for either. Has anyone tried burgers on a cart? If so how did you go about it? I think adding burgers would increase sales a good bit, I just can't think of an effective way to go about it so I'm looking for any ideas and suggestions on what might work. My setup is a Custom 525 cart with a full size steam pan I do the dogs in, a half size pan I do meatballs in, and a 1/6 pan that I'm doing nothing with. Thanks.

88-2.7oz precooked burgers $52............. Advance foods 40-4oz precooked burgers Blk Angus...$43.24................ Advance foods 40-4oz precooked Pub burger steak....$41.52............. Advance foods 60-4oz Jalp/Cheddar Precooked burger..57.85........... Kings Command foods These are all heat and serve. In a quick lunch hour situation like you have I would heat 12 burgers, build on buns and wrap in foil wrapper. I would let them build up the burger with lettuce, tomato and onion and condiments....................Bill

I would add a griddle or grill if you have room. Better check with you HD first. They may require a refrigerator instead of an ice box for storage.

How about in place of having to add a grill add something that is scoop and go. Maybe sloppy joe's or pulled bbq sandwiches and do enough where when you run out that is it and no need to hold back up product. Just a thought. I don't have a cart so I have no working experience in this, I am just thinking of holding and heating.

Do you think you could grill your burgers and keep them in a pan of au jus juice to keep hot and moist? Maybe refresh on the grill before serving? Or would that look disgusting to a customer? Thanks, D

If you can grill, try Sams Angus burgers, People love them, fresh toppings is the kicker.

I grill Costco's Kirkland Brand 1/4 Beef Burgers. They are quite tasty and are made on the flat top (best when started frozen). I undercook them a bit and let them stay warm in my 1/3 pan with a little water and KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce. When I am ready to deliver a a burger, I throw it on the flat top...it sizzles while the bun toasts a bit and them its asembled. The BBQ sauce simmer adds an even better flavor to this already beefy tasting burger. Lots of compliments.
