Yum. I missed this the first time around. It all looks great. And I've been thinking about going to Virginia lately.

Ooh, Mama J's looks GREAT. Thus far, I have never learned to love greens(I think it helps to have been raised on them) but I might have been changing my mind at Mama J's! You do find some great looking restaurants, Dale.

That's some good-looking chicken!  That looks like a breast but it's different (to me, at least) to see 2 drumsticks...is this Mama J's standard 3-piece meal or did you request specific pieces?

Those collards tasted even better than they looked, sadly on on the other hand, I had some nasty kale greens on the same trip.  There were alot of hit and misses on this trip.
I had some of the best pulled pork I've ever  had in the Richmond area to date at Hillbilly Red's in Sandston (near  Richmond International Airport) sadly the sides were a dissapointment
The spoonbread at Stuart's Fresh Catch was as good as I remembered (albeit still on the sweet side)
My meal out in the Country at the County Seat in rural Powhatan was just north of average and my experimental meal (deliberately waited till the very end of the evening and almost didn't go) at Debbie's Kitchen in suburban Glen Allen was dismal
My final meal was back in Maryland (I had flown in and out of Baltimore and drove the rest of the way) was once again at the Point Crab House  in Arnold MD which I discovered on our amtrak trip to DC in early April, was still excellent. This time I had the  crab vegetable soup with two crab cakes, incredibly creamy blue cheese cole slaw and fresh cut herb fries.  Compared to last time the place was packed and I had to squeeze in and find a seat at the bar. The Point is my new favorite crab house in the Baltimore area.
You might be in for a surprise but that was a thigh. I did a mini fried chicken smack down on this trip and wanted to be consistent. I ordered the dark meat fried chicken plate at Mama J's
