Hanging my head

I needed to feed a bunch of kids the other night. So I bought several lg pizzas from Domino's at 5.99 each. They are running a single topping with extra cheese for 5.99 special. I actually liked the pizza.

In college we practically lived on Domino's, since they were the only ones that delivered to the dorms. I don't think I have eaten one since and there is one only ten minutes from my house.

MikeS. I actually liked the pizza. Liked it in general or liked something specific about it? I think I last had Domino's sometime in the 1990s and it didn't match my college memories from the '80s, so either the pizza changed or I did. Brad

I don't even remember Domino's being around when I started college, at least we didn't have any near me. We had a couple mom and pop places right next door to each other that I wouldn't have strayed from even if Domino's was available. I hadn't even had Domino's in over ten years, then a couple months ago I ordered a meat lover's (or whatever they call it) pizza, and when I took the first slice out, all the sausage rolled off of it like dog food kibble. It was the only slice I ate. Next time I get nostalgic for something, I might just have to let it go.

Our Domino's is long gone, but heck if you were feeding a bunch of kids that was a good deal. And, if you liked it, you liked it. I will say I don't miss the Domino's pizza but it's been years since I've had it. Andrea

I would order Domino's after coming home on the Coast Starlight after midnight and I loved it. I think it was psychological since I was usually travelling during the holidays or vacation during college. Now I can't stand it.

I get Domino's too for kid sleep overs. The price is right for a sleep over of 8x 10 year olds, and they could care less. The straight up pepperoni isn't too bad, especially with a few brews.

Give 'em some Dogfish Head and you can probably get by with frozen pizza.

On my trips out of state I usually bring back 2-3 cases of mixed micro-brews and Belgians to tide me over the next 4-6 months. You can go to the liquor store up here and I swear 99% of the beer shelf is "__insert-brand-name-here__ Lite." Edit: By tide me over, I mean myself, the wife, and leeching friends.

I checked The Beeradvocate site for North Dakota, and you really are hurting up there. Not a single microbrewery in the entire state, and the only brewpub in the state is Granite City, and they are awful. This has to be particularly hard for you, as if I remember correctly you used to live in Washington State, home to more than a few good brews.

Living in Seattle I was spoiled on some of the best west coast and rocky mtn micro-brews available. And thats a LOT. Fortunately I've home brewed for a good 17 years. I've gotten back into that big time to get the flavors I like. Still. Miss my Rogue, Full Sail, Stone, Alaskan, and a plethora of all the others. That and I had The Tap House just 3 blocks from my apt. http://www.taphousegrill.com/beer.html 160 beers on tap. Maybe it's a good thing for my liver I moved.
