Happy Birthday wanderingjew

Yes, folks, today wanderingjew is entering his "late 40s". Geeze, he's just a puppy! But since he mentioned it more than once, I wanted to wish him a very Happy Birthday. May he continue to travel, eat and amaze us with his trip reports. Happy Birthday, Dale!!!!!

Happy birthday! Now that you're among the elderly you'll probably be slowing down a bit.

Dale, we all want to know what one of the "Top Roadfood Reporters of 2011" is going to have for his birthday dinner. Lobster? BBQ? Pie? (no, that's your partner in crime bb). Let us know! Unless it really is lutefisk, then I don't want to know.

So let me get this straight...Greymo is jumping into a heart-shaped tub with Wandering Jew, and Lleechef and MH are going to write a senior-citizens critique of the proceedings. All involved will share a magnum of Geritol and then retire before 8PM...The end of the Senior Happy Hour at the Shady Rest Old Folks Home and Grill. Meantime Jan and I enjoyed Fajitas nite at the local Mexican Restaurant here in Corydon, Indiana. $7 per dinner and $5 for a 60 oz Peach Margarita (pitcher). Two Pitchers and 2 dinners including tip for $28 is not a bad deal...got to watch some of the BBall tourniment at the same time. Best of luck to you Senor folks...enjoy those golden years.

Thanks everyone If I told all of you I'm maintaining my low carb, high protein lifestyle then I'm lying. Well not exactly. I did today, but the weekend will be another story. And a big thanks to Al for that visual. You've mistaken me for Travelin Man- he's the one who goes after those cougars. I'm still young, I still have a baby face- I've got great genes in my favor (if you saw my half siblings you'd know what I mean) and I've got a good decade and a half (or more) before I can be classified "a senior citizen"

Those "senior menus" now start at 55! :-) What's even scarier is that you're eligible for AARP membership at 50! My rule of thumb is based on the following 1- if John Lennon has always been dead then you're a pup 2- if you remember Jack Kennedy being alive then you're "a little long in the tooth"

Wanderingjew, I do remember John Lennon with the Beatles making their debut on Ed Sullivan's show. And I remember Jack Kennedy being sworn in as President. We all got out of school early when he was assasinated. And YES I too get AARP mail. That makes me OLD. Sheesh.

Happy birthday, Dale... A time comes when birthdays become mere markers of survival, so enjoy them while you are still young at heart. My 84th passed quietly last November, but it was occasion for me finally realize that , yes, indeed, I am one of the old folks - a group I have always held in some disdain (not the individuals within the group - just the group - "some of my best friends are old folks..."). Cheers, John

wanderingjew What's even scarier is that you're eligible for AARP membership at 50! But actually being able to retire at 50 is another story! Still, AARP membership does come with some perks...as the cradle-robbing Mrs. SC will attest. Happy birthday, although I could've sworn you were a couple of years younger than you actually are!
