For some reason, for the past five or so hours I've been thinking this is one very happy day. It can't be the weather -- it's been spitting rain under miserably cloudy skies.

Michael, any day you are above the ground and healthy, it is a very happy day. I got bored, took the Miata down to the grocery store and bought some Mexican rice that I will add some sausage, ground beef, jalapeno, bell pepper, vidalia onion, salt, pepper and some Mexican diced tomatoes. I will also add about a half a teaspoon of Thia ground peppers out of my garden. That will get their motor racing. My friend will take them to the hospital where forlks can enjoy this toxic delight. Actually it sounds pretty good to me. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Your thinking everyone is going to be fixing that delicious dish you wrote about, I'm unfortunately not, I'm having Filet Mignon tacos, it's actually carpaccio meat fried for about 30 seconds, deposited in a flour tortilla, on a bed of aragula, topped with red onion, chopped tomatoes and shaved parma. I'm going to try to choke a few down!

There's a bright golden haze on the meadow There's a bright golden haze on the meadow The corn is as high as an elephant's eye And it looks like it's climbing right up to the sky Which has nothing to do with rice and sausage... I just felt like singing.

No, CTF, I wasn't thinking any such thing. Your tacos sound almost edible.

Wrong song. The one I posted lyrics from was a pop tune from the early 1950s, not the gospel song.

Arizona? You have to be kidding. I hate it when there's a heat wave of 40 degrees above zero. I have a daughter and grandkids in Scottsdale and I haven't seen them since they moved there in 2000 because it's too hot for me even in the dead of winter.
