UncleVic - Send some of that snow my may. Southern Minesota has been way to dry for quite a few winters, it boring! Happy Thanksgiving. If my birds look good I'll post a picture, thought it would be fun if other people did too.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. My dog and I had a fine pheasant hunt this morning. She put up three birds, just one of them a rooster, and that bird's in the freezer right now. It was a great morning with snow blowing, lots of water in the fields, and the happy dog got her standard hunting treat of a salami and cheese sandwich.

Happy Thanksgiving all. UncleVic, I heard the midwest was getting nailed with snow. We got rain all day yesterday, and still warm enough today that if it starts again, it will still be wet instead of white. Oh well, my personal rule is no snow before Thanksgiving, but I have the snow blower all ready to go when it does start. Michael, sounds like you and the dog had a successful outing this morning. I don't know about salami, but mine will be begging for a taste of the turkey in about 2 hours. Have a wonderful time with family and friends, and best of health to yu all.

I think our T-giving will be a little less involved than some of yours...it's just the four of us, and the kids won't eat more than a couple of bites of dinner, so I ended up getting an 6.5 pound chicken instead of a turkey. My hubby, who is easy to please, food-wise (I could make him a ham and cheese sandwich on Wonder bread and he'd be satisfied) said that as long as there were crescent rolls and cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes, he'd be fine. Store-bought cake for dessert that the kids picked out yesterday. It will be low-key, but should be yummy. Hey -- I made the cranberry sauce from scratch. Does that count??!!

Just the two of us for the day (Chris had to work) but that didn't stop me from making a 15 lb. bird. The apple crisp is cooling and I'm just waiting to hear that the wife's on her way so I can pop the stuffing in, carve the bird and finish my mashed sweet potatoes. Hope everybody's having a great holiday weekend! Enjoy!!

5 of the 7 of us made it over to the new house of our friends. These people had been neighbors for 5 years and we have shared many a meal together. We had a great time and some wonderful food. I made a 3 layer German Chocolate cake, 20 eggs deviled and my famous squash casserole. Not all 20 eggs made it to lunch though...The cook and Co. had to have some samples Our friends did the bird, the green bean casserole, the rolls, the stuffing and the mashed potatoes. I have a huge pleate of left-overs sitting in the work fridge just waiting for my 3AM meal. Wonderful Thanksgiving! Blessed Be All. MikeS.
